We're hiring for a PR Advisor to play a key role in enhancing Australia Post’s reputation and social licence to operate.
You’ll be at the heart of storytelling at Australia Post, uncovering and amplifying the positive stories that shape our brand and connect us with communities across the country. You’ll work across the business to bring key social and PR campaigns to life, using both established and emerging channels to deliver a bold, integrated external communications strategy. 

Collaboration is key in this role. You’ll build strong relationships with teams across the enterprise, gaining a deep understanding of their goals and audiences. Your ability to connect, influence and communicate will help ensure our stories are not only heard, but truly resonate.

This is 12-month fixed term opportunity 


What you’ll deliver with us 

  • Manage the positive pipeline of news stories from across the enterprise and amplify these across a number of existing and new channels with the goal to build AP's positive reputation
  • Support the PR team in maintaining the calendar of yearly PR activity across the enterprise
  • Work closely with the BU Communications Partners to identify PR opportunities 
  • Execute the PR communication plans in line with best practice
  • Accountable for supporting the PR Manager on the distribution of daily updates to the business of media coverage, where an issue arises early identification and notification is required
  • Maintain positive working relationships with PR agencies
  • Actively participate in enterprise-wide programs of work and campaigns

 
About You 

You’re a communications professional with experience in public relations and social media, ideally within a large, complex organisation. You’re naturally curious about current affairs and the socio-political landscape, and you know how to turn complex issues into compelling stories. You bring a strong understanding of media channels, best-practice communications, and social media strategy, plus a keen interest in industries like eCommerce, logistics and digital services. You’re confident working with senior stakeholders, comfortable juggling multiple priorities, and always ready to measure the impact of your work.
  
You’ll also bring
 

  • Proactively maintain Media contact lists and biographies 
  • Support the work in focusing on measurement of the impact and sentiment of media campaigns
