Our diverse team, delivering together
Our diverse and inclusive workplaces bring out the best in our people. We're all ages, genders and abilities, and we come from all walks of life. That’s how we deliver for Australia – together. We believe our business should reflect the diverse communities we operate in. We’re committed to building a team of diverse people, and a culture where everybody feels they belong, are valued, and can safely bring their authentic self to work every day.
Indigenous Australians
At Australia Post, we're committed to providing careers and development programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Acknowledging the traditional owners of this land, their ancestors, spiritual connections to Country and our participation in reconciliation with Indigenous Australians is very important to us. We have a long and proud history of providing employment and career development, building sustainable business growth in partnership, and supporting social and economic participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan provides more extensive details of our commitment to reconciliation. Watch this clip to hear more about our progress:
People living with disability
With one in five Australians living with disability, Australia Post is focused on ensuring our workplace is accessible and inclusive for all. We’re proudly one of Australia’s largest employers to be an accredited Disability Confident Recruiter. We’re committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free workplace and encourage the implementation of workplace adjustments for team members with disability at all stages of their career. If you require an adjustment to the recruitment process, please contact our Diversity & Inclusion team at inclusivecareers@auspost.com.au or on 03 8737 9415 (business hours only)
Australia Post has launched a new Accessibility Inclusion Plan, developed with our employee network, 'Accessibility Matters' and leaders from across the business. This plan outlines our priorities and focus for improving access and inclusion of people with disability. Gender equality
Australia Post is committed to supporting an equitable representation of gender across the organisation, so increasing women’s participation across the business is a key focus area. With a focus on gender equality, we have the goal of 40% representation of women across our workforce and 40% of women in leadership positions by 2026. How? We’re updating our recruitment processes, looking at how we develop talent and challenging role structures to create a working environment that helps our team members thrive.
We’re proud to give our team members the opportunity to partake in specialised talent programs like ProjectMe and Elevate designed to give women the tools to build resilience, self-awareness, career agility and help progress them into leadership roles. We also have specialised internal networks to help support women at Australia Post and progress career opportunities (#NOW for women in Network Operations, HEROES for women in Tech and Women@Post for all women). Refugee Inclusion and Engagement
We recognise the value in the resilience and determination that refugees bring, and are committed to fostering a culture of acceptance, understanding, and respect for individuals from diverse backgrounds. We’re proud to launch our first Refugee Employment and Engagement Action Plan, our next step in creating a workforce that is reflective of the diverse communities we serve.
Although this is our first official plan, we have been committed to supporting refugee integration through the Welcome Project, launched in 2022. Hear more about our progress from our people below:
