About the opportunity
Are you motivated by getting behind the wheel of one of our iconic blue trucks to deliver for customers? As our Driver at our friendly Wingfield based StarTrack facility, you’ll be the face of our trusted business, at the heart of your community and connecting businesses with their customers, and communities with each other day-in, day-out. You might not be working from home, but you’ll be on the road as a staple of your community, and it doesn’t get better than that!
This Driver role entails scanning freight, loading your truck with the help of our expert Freight Handlers, 3-5 deliveries a day, mostly to shopping centres and manually unloading freight and delivering with a trolley at each location.
This is a permanent part time opportunity working from 9am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday (start and finish times can be negotiated during the recruitment process). This role pays $30.81/hr plus 12% super plus overtime rates.
You’ll be
- Completing your own daily vehicle safety check
- Safely loading your truck with freight for your deliveries with teammates at the facility
- Driving our modern trucks between our operational centres and customers, for deliveries and pick-ups
- Returning to our operational centres to unload pick-ups
About you
You have a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable personality and love autonomy just as much as interacting with others and being a team player. You’re passionate about making a difference in the community.
You’ll also need to
- Hold a relevant unrestricted MR vehicle license or C Class if you intend on up grading your licence to Medium Rigid in the near future
- Be fit enough to load and unload freight items of all different shapes, sizes and weights, frequently in and out of a truck (up to 30kg lifting capacity - pre-existing physical fitness is a must)
- Be safety-focused and understand the importance of chain of responsibility
- Have a customer-centric mindset and effective communication skills
- You will need to meet our safe working load limit of weighing 130kgs or less
- Be prepared to provide a driving history report, undergo a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening and nationally coordinated criminal history checks.
