What does the role involve? 

The Duty Manager, based in Tamworth, is responsible for leading a team of 13 people and an extended network through North West NSW. You will facilitate the continued improvement of the facility operations by analysing current performance, identifying improvement opportunities, and developing improvement action plans. This role is focused on delivering continual efficiency improvement in the pursuit of service excellence.

The role of the Duty Manager is to provide clear direction, accountability and collaboration across facility processing teams in alignment with business objectives. Day to day will see you:

  • Proactively build and maintain a strong support network to drive commitment toward facility goals.
  • Embed a culture of safety by implementing Site Safety Compliance Plans and related strategies.
  • Support service performance targets by ensuring consistent, efficient transport operations through standardised policies, procedures, and national systems.
  • Execute national transport strategies with integrated audit mechanisms to maintain legislative compliance.
  • Allocate resources effectively and engage staff to achieve operational objectives.
  • Act as the subject matter expert in your area to align operational delivery with customer expectations and service quality.
  • Lead team innovation and champion organisational change.
  • Promote cultural transformation through new systems, processes, and work practices that support desired change.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships internally and externally, including collaboration with commercial and customer service teams to maintain strong customer partnerships.
  • Oversee a network of Agent Delivery Partners to ensure timely and accurate delivery of Express and Premium products within the branch’s territory.
  • Appropriately manage escalated HR matters in line with policy and best practice.
  • Identify and support service and efficiency improvement opportunities within the facility.
  • Monitor and analyse daily operations to detect and address process control issues.
  • Use various data tools to manipulate, interpret, and present data to support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain high standards of service delivery and financial performance through strong audit and compliance measures.
  • Foster a unified team culture that embodies the One StarTrack vision, prioritises safety and wellbeing, and keeps the customer at the centre of decision-making.
  • Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm.
