About the role
As a Mail and Parcel Officer in our Customer Operations Liaison Team (COLT) you’ll work closely with the COLT Coordinator across mail and parcel processing centres to assist in the acceptance, checking, and processing of customer lodgements. Your focus will be on lodgement compliance, and providing frontline support to our operational teams.
This role combines operational mail and parcel handling and quality assurance work — a dynamic position for someone who likes variety and meaningful impact.
Would suit someone who's confident engaging with others, capable of spotting inconsistencies, and eager to contribute to improvements in how we operate. Ideal for someone with a background in logistics or warehousing with high attention to detail.
This job is working across multiple parcel facilities (not customer facing) and requires someone with a driver’s licence and own car, willing to fill in at other locations as required. This position will be based mainly at the Brisbane Parcel Facility at Redbank but will also require the successful person to travel as required to Murarrie and the Gold Coast to support in line with business requirements. All car use will be reimbursed.
You’ll work closely with our Processing teams to:
- Load and unload mail from bags, trays, containers and metal cages to check compliance
- Operate pallet jacks and other mail-handling equipment to move large items
- Conduct customer acceptance checks to ensure revenue and lodgement standards are met
- Accurately document and escalate non-conformance issues
- Educate customers via Account Manager on correct lodgement procedures
- Identify process improvements for the customer and the business
- Assist at assigned sites as needed, based on risk and operational priorities
About you
- You have a QLD drivers licence and your own car for travel (travel km reimbursed)
- Ability to work on your feet and comfortable lifting, moving, measuring 16kg parcels
- Good attention to detail with a strong memory and great focus
- Be open to working additional hours as well as across other facilities where required
- Comfortable operating manual pallet jacks and/or stackers (advantageous but not essential)
- An excellent communicator with a willingness to work as part of a broader team
- Safety-conscious and committed to upholding a secure and positive work environment

- Pay rate for this role is $28.60ph for the first 3 months, then $30.60ph after plus additional 15% shift penalties and 12% superannuation

Training and Support
At Australia Post, our training and induction programs offer support to ensure we set you up for success. You will attend an induction in your first week with our Learning and Development Team followed by a site-specific induction at your respective facility and additional online learning modules. As a new employee, you will receive one-on-one coaching, followed by regular check-ins with your Manager and Trainer to track progress, provide feedback, and discuss any support needed. We assess development at the end of each month during your probationary period, with adjustments or additional training as required. The program includes site-specific inductions and hands-on training, building employees up to full capacity within a fair time-frame. Our approach is flexible, ensuring long-term success and continuous growth.
