About the opportunity 

As our Retail Postage Sorter, you’ll play an important part in keeping millions of Australians connected. As you’d expect, plenty of mail comes through our Post Offices and delivery facilities every day – and our mail sorting teams make sure every delivery gets where it needs to.  

You’ll be: 

• Manually sorting all mail arriving at the workplace
• Sorting and distributing mail into relevant PO Boxes 
• Assisting and/or performing administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance

About the role:

• On the job training for 12 weeks between Monday to Friday - 3 hours per day

• Casual on call as required after the training, various shifts Monday to Friday between 5:00am - 6pm (shifts will be 4 hours or 7.35 hours)

• Relief position supporting the Canberra Region - North Canberra Business Hub, Mitchell, Belconnen, Jamison

• Adult pay rate $31.85 increases to $34.05 once training is completed + 12% Superannuation

About you:

You’re friendly, enthusiastic and reliable and you love the balance of working in a team environment and autonomously. You’re motivated by the opportunity to help make a difference to your community. You'll also need to:

• Call upon your memory and hand-eye coordination while sorting  
• Be fit to lift up to 16kgs of mail regularly and stand for your shift
