Depending on your licence type and experience, we have motorcycles and Electric Delivery Vehicles (an EDV is a small 3-wheeled post specific road vehicle).
This position is known within Australia Post as a Senior Postal Delivery Officer and the purpose of this position is to provide daily delivery relief for any Posties as needed if on recreational leave, sick leave or other, performing sorting, delivery duties, or any other adhoc duties required at the facility. The position pays more than a regular Postie position due to the flexibility we require with duties and extended hours.
- Supporting the Mansfield team to assist with deliveries for team members on leave or operate current vacant runs
- Starting your day early in the morning sorting both mail and small parcels
- Responsible to cover and deliver to multiple rounds covering varied delivery routes
- Completing your own daily vehicle safety check
- Loading your vehicle with your deliveries for the day
- Delivering outdoors in all types of weather to deliver to homes and businesses
- Providing friendly customer service as required on your delivery route
- Paired up with our experienced Rider Mentors, who are committed to engage and take part in your professional development
- You hold a QLD car licence and/or QLD motorcycle licence
- Experience and/or knowledge working within the courier/delivery industry is advantageous but not mandatory
- You're resilient and able to adapt to high volume and pressure
- You have a good memory, great hand/eye coordination, and excellent attention to detail in order to sort mail
- You enjoy physical work indoors and outdoors and can lift up to 16kgs of Mail and Parcels regularly
- You're flexible with working additional hours as required (a regular requirement in this position)
- You'll need to meet our safe working vehicle load limit of weighing under 100kgs (fully clothed including helmet) for a motorcycle or under 120kgs for the EDV
- This position pays a minimum base salary of $67,983 (based on 36.75 hours per week) then additional shift penalties of 15% (guaranteed), overtime rates for extra hours, plus a 4% pay increase in Sept 2025

Training and Support
At Australia Post, our training and induction programs offer support to ensure we set you up for success. You will attend an induction in your first week with our Learning and Development Team followed by vehicle training and a site-specific induction at your respective facility plus additional online learning modules. As a new employee, you will receive one-on-one coaching, followed by regular check-ins with your Manager and Trainer to track progress, provide feedback, and discuss any support needed. We assess development at the end of each month during your probationary period, with adjustments or additional training as required. The program includes site-specific inductions and hands-on training, building employees up to full delivery capacity. Our approach is flexible, with the option to swap coaches for fresh perspectives, ensuring long-term success and continuous growth.
