About the opportunity 

This is a 12-month position while the nominal occupant is on extended leave. This job is known as a Postal Delivery Coordinator within Australia Post. It is a crucial supervisory/team leader role within our delivery frontline operation, leading a small team of 5 in Dalby to prioritise safety, service, and cost. 


About You

You have strong communication and interpersonal skills to ensure effective workplace relationships, provide leadership and contribute to the development of the team. You're motivated to bring the best out of the team under your guidance and also not afraid to get out and do some deliveries with the team if there is a need for it. You are comfortable speaking to people at all levels within the business and can effectively have supportive conversations about performance and business goals.


 

You’ll also

  • Promote a safe workplace and adhere to as well as implement best work practices and policies
  • Provide advice and support coordination to assist the Delivery Manager and facility staff
  • Drive performance and process improvement initiatives
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of all facets of Australia Post’s Diversity and OH&S Policies and Procedures
  • Assist with the processing and delivery of letters and parcels as needed
  • Coach and where needed conduct performance conversations
  • Use the My Safety App to enter any incidents and assist with data entry for schedules or other



 

You’ll also need

  • Some leadership and team building experience behind you
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring co-workers 
  • Strong customer service focus involving direct contact with customers 
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Proven experience of prioritising, planning, and scheduling
  • Ability to be flexible during periods of change
  • Decent computer skills with Microsoft Office and experience with SAP is beneficial
  • A QLD drivers licence to assist if required on deliveries
  • A forklift licence would be a hug plus however not mandatory for this job

  • Annual salary for this position is $69,614 plus additional guaranteed 15% penalty rate in addition, a 4% increase in Sept 2025, and 12% superannuation

Training and Support

At Australia Post, our training and induction programs offer support to ensure we set you up for success. You will attend an induction in your first week with our Learning and Development Team followed by a site-specific induction at your respective facility and additional online learning modules. As a new employee, you will receive one-on-one coaching, followed by regular check-ins with your Manager and Trainer to track progress, provide feedback, and discuss any support needed. We assess development at the end of each month during your probationary period, with adjustments or additional training as required. The program includes site-specific inductions and hands-on training, building employees up to full delivery capacity within six weeks. Our approach is flexible, ensuring long-term success and continuous growth.
