What you’ll deliver with us
The Trusted AI Specialist provides hands-on support for Trusted AI governance processes, artefacts, and capabilities. The role develops and maintains policies, guidelines, and artefacts that enable central oversight and federated support services. The role delivers support to AI System and Platform Owners through program discovery, system assessments, and post-deployment reviews, helping establish compliance-by-design. You will also Contribute to the roadmap of activities to deliver future technology solutions to scale and automate Trusted AI.
The AI specialist executes oversight controls to ensure AI use aligns with Group Policies and Trusted AI Principles, maintains AI system records in the Enterprise AI Inventory, and analyses governance implications of evolving policies and trends. It supports reporting of Trusted AI metrics and contributes to training modules, technology roadmaps, and continuous improvement of team practices. Contribute to the development of training modules for role-based Trusted AI responsibilities. It is critical to ensure that AI systems are managed in a way that aligns with the organization’s data security, privacy, and compliance standards.

- Maintain Trusted AI Governance Policies and Guidelines.
- Develop and continuously improve a suite of artefacts and processes to enable centralised oversight and federated support services for Trusted AI.
- Present at Data & AI Advisory committee and Data & AI council.
- Provide Trusted AI support services to AI System Owners and their teams through AI Program Discovery, AI System Assessment, and post-deployment AI System Reviews.
- Provide Trusted AI support services to AI Platform Owners and their teams to establish baseline Compliance-by-Design on major AI Platforms.
- Support Procurement, Legal and Cyber Services as a Trusted AI subject matter expert contributing to vendor assessment and compliance assurance for third-party AI providers.
- Execute group-level oversight controls to assure that AI is managed and used in compliance with Group Policies and in alignment with Trusted AI Principles.
- Register and maintain AI system records in the Enterprise AI Inventory.
- Analyse and present the governance implications of internal and external policies, regulations, trends and innovations related to AI technology.
- Contribute to the definition, measurement, and reporting of Trusted AI metrics for maturity, compliance, and insight.
About you
We are seeking someone with strong stakeholder management skills who can collaborate with governance functions, privacy, group risk, data governance, cyber security and AI teams. You will use your strong technical troubleshooting skills as well as analytical skills to assess and remediate data quality & management issues. Externally you’ll work with vendors (tool vendors) and consultants who support our data governance initiatives. This will help you to stay informed of industry developments and participate in relevant data & AI governance forums.
You’ll also need
- Experience in an AI Governance, Data Governance, Technical AI, Research, Privacy or Risk position.
- Background working in large-scale enterprise environments, particularly in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, government).
- Knowledge of AI principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Understanding of AI systems, data quality, governance principles, metadata management, and stewardship.
- Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, regulations, standards (ISO 27701, ISO/IEC 42001) and best practices.
- Awareness of trends and advancements in AI tools and technologies, including regulatory changes and emerging risks.
- Familiarity with Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and the Privacy Act 1988, especially in relation to data handling and automation is useful.
- Knowledge of data security, privacy, and compliance requirements as they relate to governance tools is highly regarded.
