Description & Requirements

Help us deliver like never before

We’re looking for a Front-End Software Engineer to join our diverse, talented and innovative digital technology team who together are helping our customers and communities build a better future. Together, we design, build and maintain products, services and experiences that Australian's love and trust, while delivering a sustainable future for Australia Post, and you could be part of that.

We're empowered to deliver for our teams and to delight our customers. We provide an inclusive and supportive environment that nurtures talented people, trusts our teams to deliver their best, and leverages modern work practices and technologies. It's an unexpectedly dynamic and collaborative culture that feels more like a start-up within a 200-year old icon.

What you’ll deliver with us

As our Software Engineer, you’ll help build and evolve customer-facing digital experiences with React, Javascript, Typscript and Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS) for the Future Web Platform (FWP) and BAU. You’ll be joining the team at a pivotal time as we transition into a cloud-first environment and uplift how we build, test and release—supporting major digital roadmaps and enhancements across Australia Post web experiences.

You’ll also

  • Develop and maintain reusable, responsive and accessible UI components and templates within AEM/AEMaaCS, aligned to engineering standards and consistent patterns.
  • Support enhancements in React, working closely with product, design, content, platform and QA to deliver iteratively.
  • Contribute to CI/CD and release practices with a strong focus on automation (including robust automated test coverage) to enable reliable, frequent deployments in a cloud service model.
  • Deliver across projects, enhancements and BAU — upgrades, stability, production support, and responsive engagement with customers and internal stakeholders.

About You

You’re a collaborative, hands-on engineer with a growth mindset, who thrives in change and enjoys learning new platforms and ways of working.  You care about crafting digital experiences that are intuitive, inclusive and fast. You take ownership from build through to support, communicate clearly with cross‑functional stakeholders, and bring a pragmatic mindset. You’re adaptable and value a practical problem-solving approach to fast-moving environments.

You’ll also need

  • 5+ years’ experience in Front-End Engineering, with strong hands-on capability across React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript, and the ability to work independently and own deliverables end-to-end.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with Adobe AEM on-prem and AEMaaCS exposure is a bonus.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility and responsive UI, plus confidence supporting production environments and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve issues quickly.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility and web performance, and the ability to support live production websites in a BAU model (including responsible use of enterprise AI tools).
  • Nice to have experience with Adobe EDS.

How we’ll deliver for you

  • Be part of a major digital transformation modernising Australia Post web experiences through FWP and AEMaaCS, supported by modern delivery practices and cloud-native pipelines.
  • Bring your authentic self to work in a culture that supports you and values diverse perspectives—so you can do your best work.
  • Grow and develop long-term with opportunities to build in-demand capability across modern front-end engineering, accessibility, performance and platform ways of working.
