About the opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Shareholder Liaison, the Shareholder Liaison Advisor supports Australia Post’s strategic and trusted relationships with Shareholder Department stakeholders.
The role is responsible for timely coordination of communication and engagement between Shareholder Departments, as well as organising activities that strengthen relationships and advance Australia Post’s strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include preparing briefs, responding to requests for information, coordinating parliamentary processes, and managing the meeting cadence for projects led by the Shareholder Liaison team.
What you’ll deliver with us
- Coordinate engagement with Shareholder Department stakeholders - both reactively on parliamentary hearings and information requests, and proactively to support Australia Post’s strategic objectives
- Lead the development of clear, persuasive briefs and business cases that provide advice to Shareholder Departments
- Provide high‑level internal advice across the business and proactively identify opportunities for Australia Post with Shareholder Departments
- Apply strategic thinking to shape agendas for regular engagements between Australia Post and Shareholder Departments, and ensure key actions are captured and delivered with internal and external stakeholders
About you
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Federal Departmental and Government decision-making cycles and processes, and government policy development processes
- Demonstrated ability to prepare complex briefing and material with a sound understanding of the unique regulatory environment in which GBEs operateRelevant tertiary qualifications in political science, public policy, economics or a related field
- 5+ years’ experience, including substantial experience in Shareholder offices and/or Government departments, ideally with exposure in relevant policy areas
- Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated ability to work effectively in complex teams and large organisations
