About the opportunity  

This Service Continuity and Recovery Specialist will oversee all aspects of Service Continuity including recovery of service from backup. This role works closely with the business and technology service teams to ensure major applications meet the ITSC compliance requirements. It is vital for the role to guarantee relevant recovery instructions against potential incident scenarios are documented and tested.


What you’ll deliver with us

Reporting directly into the Service Continuity and Recovery Lead you will be responsible for Developing and maintaining IT service continuity plans and procedures. Additionally, you will be participating in audits to ensure these plans comply with industry standards. You will collaborate with the other application or BA teams to help them understand what is required from a compliance perspective. 


You’ll also   

  • Evaluate continuity plans of external vendors important to IT services
  • Educate colleagues about continuity measures as well as share knowledge of these best practices to the relevant teams
  • Create communication protocols for alerting stakeholders during planned incident scenarios
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT service continuity plans, procedures and test results
  • Conduct BIA to identify how important different IT services are to Australia Post


About you  

You will be a highly adaptable individual who is able to identify areas for improvement in continuity planning and is able to implement enhancements in these areas. You play a key role in identifying and assessing potential risks to IT services and core infrastructure of the business.


You’ll also need   

  • Expert understanding of ITIL framework, recovery strategies and standards
  • Comprehensive knowledge of network, storage, database systems and applications
  • Exposure to backup technologies and strategies
  • Significant IT industry experience having worked in a similar position in the ITSM/ITSC 
  • Ability to adjust strategies based on changing business needs and technology changes
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards related to IT service continuity
