About the opportunity  

The Senior Quality Engineer provides Quality Engineering Services as part of a long running team building and maintaining automation frameworks, improving the processes and supporting projects/ programs to ensure automation first approach to development. Effective stakeholder engagement, strong technical knowledge and test automation design skills are key 

You’ll also

  • Develop, implement and maintain automated test scripts covering all aspects from the beginning of testing to the Release into Deployment
  • Identify business test environment requirements for all aspects of testing
  • Review Test plans and make recommendations for improvement
  • Develop and implement quality processes within the team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers, to understand project requirements, technical architecture to determine testing solutions and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of test standards and best practices to the organisation
  • Conduct API testing using Rest Assured for RESTful services, ensuring the reliability and functionality of backend systems.
  • Identify and document software defects, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining detailed records of test cases and results.
  • Participate in test planning, strategy, and estimation activities to contribute to overall project success.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in automation testing to continuously improve our testing processes.

 

About you  

We are seeking someone with the ability to identify, analyse and assess the impact, risk and issue management skills. Knowledge of agile development, testing principles/methodologies and great collaboration skills are key for this role. Any relevant testing certifications and exposure to cross browser testing or mobile testing is desirable. A background in testing applications and solutions in modern Cloud hosted environments, On-prem and desktop applications is also advantageous for this position.

 

You’ll also need

  • Minimum 5 years practical experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role, with a focus on automation testing.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge with a number of market leading open source test tools
  • Experience with developing automation scripts in Java and Typescript
  • Experience in design and implementation of automation frameworks for both UI and API testing
  • Hands on experience in in test automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Postman and Rest assured
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
  • Work with SDLC management platforms such as JIRA, MicroFocus ALM, Practi test etc. and leverage integrated tools such as Confluence to exploit continuous testing reporting
  • Experience working with modern DevOPs tools and techniques including Docker, Gitlab runner.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
