About the opportunity  

Reporting to the ‘Strategic Procurement Manager’, your role is to work as part of the procurement team in partnership with the relevant business units, and third-party suppliers to provide cost-effective, high-quality, and reliable sourcing solutions.  The solutions must meet Australia Post’s national requirement for technology, assets, goods, and services as well as Australia Post customer’s commercial needs and expectations. Previous experience across the technology, services, telecommunications category is preferred.


You’ll also   

  • Negotiate contractual agreements with suppliers to ensure that service, quality, added value, total cost, security of supply, and the deployment of the supplier’s capabilities in innovation are secured
  • Reduce and maintain a low-cost base across the entire business through the management of strategically planned contract negotiations, supplier management, demand management activities, and supply chain initiatives
  • High level of stakeholder engagement at all levels and senior business stakeholders across the business
  • Interact and work closely with the Procurement & Business Unit teams to influence and drive the right outcomes. 
  • Drive Supplier Relationship Management, Sustainable and Social Procurement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic and major suppliers, develop sourcing strategies and strategic supplier management plans


About you  

  • Experienced procurement professional with exposure to sourcing practices and processes
  • Sound commercial knowledge and understanding, including an understanding of national/global providers, contract law, probity practices, and procedures
  • Proven experience in supplier relationship management within a large organisation across several categories.
  • Experience in managing and working with multiple senior stakeholders


What are we looking for?

  • Sound understanding of technology category/portfolio management, and technology supplier management.
  • Experienced procurement professional with exposure to sourcing practices and procedures
  • Sound commercial knowledge and understanding, including an understanding of national/global providers, contract law, probity practices, and procedures
  • Proven experience in supplier relationship management within a large organisation across IT software, network and infrastructure services, and IT consulting categories
  • Demonstrated experience in building relationships as a trusted advisor and working with multiple senior stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to present to senior stakeholders
  • Experience with Ariba Source to Contract is highly desirable
