The role oversees the onboarding and implementation, maintenance, security management, continuous improvement and lifecycle renewal of plant-based control systems including SCADA, PLC, networking subsystems. This role combines technical expertise in control systems engineering with leadership and project management skills to ensure that the business's automated processes operate seamlessly, achieve evolving business objectives, and meet regulatory requirements.

About Your Role

We’re looking for a visionary leader to take charge of our Operational Technology (OT) landscape across a $1B national logistics infrastructure. In this high-impact role, you’ll lead a team of engineers and technicians, working at the forefront of our network expansion and technology renewal programs that’s reshaping how we operate.

As the business owner for OT controls assurance, you’ll be the single point of contact for embedding robust cybersecurity practices—aligned with NIST and IEC 62443—into our multi-site automation and control systems. You’ll collaborate closely with government and cybersecurity teams to ensure our OT environments are secure, resilient, and future-ready.

You’ll also play a key role in developing and evolving project specifications and non-functional requirements, ensuring our systems continuously improve through innovation and lessons learned.

About you

You’ll Also Need.

  • A balance of strategy experience and people leadership at a senior level.
  • Project management experience, successfully leading engineering projects from concept to completion.
  • A familiarity with industrial vendors and technologies common to critical infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of the competitive logistics/supply chain environment including key commercial drivers such as DIFOT and NPS.
  • Proven experience in influencing business leaders to embrace risk-based, long-term maintenance decision making
  • Cyber security related experience within industrial systems is ideal.
  • A Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with Purdue Model, NIST Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity, IEC 62443 and ISO 2700.

How we’ll deliver for you

  • Work with Australia’s largest logistics and automation network.
  • Lead in a high-impact, national role shaping the future of industrial cybersecurity.
  • Be the expert amongst your peers in a collaborative, trust-driven role.
