About the opportunity

The Senior Manager, Retail Design & In-Store Standards is a key role in shaping the future of our retail network! In this pivotal leadership position, you'll oversee the design, layout, and functionality of both new and existing post office locations across Australia, ensuring they deliver a seamless and engaging customer experience.

Key to the role will be implementing nationally consistent retail presentation outcomes, ensuring every outlet reflects Australia Post’s strategic vision, brand identity, and evolving business goals. A key part of the role is to implement nationally consistent retail presentation standards, driving design solutions that enhance the customer experience and support business growth.

Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will turn strategic initiatives into dynamic, innovative design projects that create modern, high-quality retail environments. Your work will directly impact how customers experience Australia Post in every touchpoint, ensuring we remain at the forefront of retail innovation and excellence.

You’ll also

  • Develop, maintain, and update Australia Post's Retail Design Standards, including a comprehensive "kit of parts" and an approved furniture catalogue that ensures consistency, efficiency, and adaptability across all retail locations.
  • Develop and formalize floor layout and concept designs for all new sites and refits nationally, using AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent tools. Ensure these layouts maximize operational efficiency, customer flow, and are adaptable for different store formats.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure that key suppliers deliver value and meet quality standards. Engage with Group Property and Procurement teams to align supplier performance with industry best practices, while driving innovation and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget for retail design and fit-out projects. Ensure all design initiatives, new site builds, and refit projects are delivered within approved budgetary constraints while maintaining high-quality standards.

About you

We're seeking an inspiring and strategic leader with a strong architectural or design background to drive innovation and excellence across our retail network. You'll lead a talented design team, bridging strategy, procurement, and execution to deliver cohesive, cutting-edge retail spaces. With expertise in supplier management, sustainable design, and material assessment you are able to build relationships and effectively connect with diverse teams, ensuring collaboration and alignment across all functions.

You’ll also need

  • Comprehensive understanding of retail design principles
