About the opportunity   

Our Internal Audit team is an independent, objective assurance and consulting function, designed to add value and improve Australia Post’s operations, including the internal control environment. It represents the third line of defence at Australia Post.


Reporting to the ‘Senior Manager, Internal Audit’, you are responsible for supporting the execution and delivery of Internal Audit engagements which provide assurance to the Board and Audit Risk Committee (BARC) and Executive Leaders on the effectiveness of the internal control environment within Australia Post. You will also provide advice to support the Internal Audit team and business units in their understanding of governance processes and assess risks to meet objectives consistent with the “3 lines of defence” model. 


What you’ll deliver with us   

  • Provide input into the annual internal audit plan 
  • Working with an Internal Audit Manager, you will execute and manage a program of internal audit and analysis, completing it in a timely and effective manner in accordance with internal audit methodology, maintaining appropriate documentation and report writing 
  • Provide timely input into the assessment of the effectiveness of the internal control environment to ensure business risks, including financial exposures, are effectively managed and mitigated 
  • Assist the Internal Audit team with the identification of performance and efficiency improvement opportunities during the delivery of audits 
  • Manage day to day relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders and collaborate to support their audit program of works 

*Note: some travel may be required during the performance of planned audits 


About you   

  • Professional accreditation or working towards accreditation in Internal Audit (CIA, CISA, CA/CPA) with a demonstrated understanding of internal audit processes, principles, and systems 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to gather inputs from internal and external stakeholders and present reporting 
  • Demonstrated internal audit experience gained through audit, risk, or relevant project work that delivers commercial recommendations/ advice including operational reviews, compliance reviews, project assurance, and/or technology reviews
