Description & Requirements

Help us deliver a better tomorrow

Australia Post is delivering for all Australians. From the vehicles that we drive, to the small businesses that make our communities thrive. We’re delivering for the environment, for our communities, for our customers and for our people. We’re moving forward and we want you to come along for the ride.

About the opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a senior role within Australia Post’s Governance, Reporting & Systems team, where your expertise in health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) data will directly shape safer, smarter outcomes for our people. As the Senior HSW Governance and Reporting Specialist, you’ll be part of a forward thinking team that’s redefining how we use data to inform safety strategy and performance. With a clear focus on driving excellence in governance, analytics and systems, you’ll help deliver meaningful insights that support key decisions across the organisation.

What you’ll deliver with us

You’ll lead the collation, validation and advanced analysis of HSW data to generate high quality insights for executive and board level reporting. Reporting to the Head of Governance, Reporting & Systems, you’ll work closely with cross functional teams to improve safety systems, data structures, and reporting frameworks. Success in this role means enabling smarter decision making, supporting proactive safety initiatives, and building tools that lift data literacy and governance capabilities across the enterprise.

You’ll also

  • Translate complex HSW data into actionable intelligence that drives proactive risk management and strategic planning.
  • Lead the evolution of HSW reporting frameworks to meet business, regulatory, and self-insurance requirements.
  • Champion continuous improvement in safety systems (including Donesafe) and ensure system design meets governance needs.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and tools to improve reporting capability and data literacy across HSW teams.
  • Act as a trusted subject matter expert and mentor in HSW data, reporting, and governance practices.

About you

You’re a curious and solutions-focused professional who thrives on turning complex data into meaningful insight. Naturally collaborative, you enjoy working across diverse teams and take pride in contributing to a strong safety culture. Your attention to detail, analytical mindset and commitment to continuous improvement mean you’re always looking for ways to optimise systems, enhance reporting, and support smarter decision making.

You’ll also need

  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics, business analysis or reporting within a WHS, compliance, or assurance environment.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and SQL, with a track record of using these to deliver high-quality reporting and insights.
  • Solid knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management principles and safety management systems, ideally within a self-insured context.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience preparing and presenting insights to senior leadership and governance bodies.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or Risk (minimum Diploma of WHS), with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, practical solutions.

How we’ll deliver for you

  • Be part of a culture where everybody feels they belong, are valued, and can bring their authentic self to work every day.
  • We deliver on our values of Trust, Inclusivity, Empowerment and Safety every day. They’re the TIES that bind our team together.
  • Flexible working, across head office and facilities across the network.
