What you’ll deliver with us

The Senior Data Architect will be accountable for strategic and solution architecture delivery for data related initiatives, responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable data architecture solutions. This is a critical role in providing architectural leadership and expertise across several key projects currently in the pipeline. These may include (but are not limited to) TMS/Out of Home/AMS/ DQ issues backlog. This sits within the Enterprise Data Quality Stream working with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, develop data blueprints that follow accepted principles, standards and patterns, and deliver high-quality solutions that leverage cloud services and other Enterprise assets and technologies. 
 
This role will involve producing solutions and strategic architecture artefacts for different data assets, including Master Data Management (MDM), data platforms, data lakes, real-time data processing, data analytics & reporting, and data integration, producing well-balanced solutions and strategies that weigh cost against quality, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. This is a senior role that will support improvements to enterprise information solutions such as master data management, meta-data management, analytics, content management and data integration.

 

You’ll also   

  • Design solutions for different data environments including MDM, Data Lake, Data Platforms, Data Integration, real-time data processing, data analytics and AI solutions.
  • Designing and validating target data architectures aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Developing reference architectures and integration patterns.
  • Work with relevant Technology teams ensuring effective plans are in place for data storage, sharing and publishing within the organisation.
  • Be responsible for the accessibility, retrievability, security, quality, retention and ethical handling of specific subsets of data through the application of formal data and metadata structures and protection measures.
  • Guide solutions through the architecture governance process, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Present architectural solutions in architecture review forums and boards, obtaining necessary approvals and incorporating relevant feedback.
  • Assist in the development and execution of data management activities in line with the Data Strategy and roadmap.
  • Stay updated with industry data management technology offerings and product strategy, directions and roadmaps and its applicability to Australia Post solution sets.
  • Provide considered input into data architecture policies and challenge these policies where appropriate.


About you

We are seeking a collaborative individual who can collaborate with the Data Architecture, Governance, AI team, data modelling and design specialists to develop skills, knowledge transfer and mentor on data architecture and management capability. Internally you will need to communicate the data model’s structure, components, and benefits to technical and non-technical stakeholders. This includes working with data architects, data engineers, and data analysts to ensure the data model integrates seamlessly with existing systems and data flows.

 

You’ll also need

  • Extensive experience working as a Data Solutions Architect in an enterprise environment
  • Background working in BI development into Data Warehousing into Data Solutions Architecture is advantageous
  • Background in data architecture or solution architecture for data related assets with data modelling skills
  • Experience designing solutions on any major cloud platform (GCP preferred)
  • Ability to lead end-to-end enterprise solution planning, design and delivery.
  • Experience in information and data architecture, information analysis, data warehousing, data design and application data requirements analysis is highly regarded
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub is preferred, however we are open to someone with deep Cloud experience in Azure or AWS instead
  • Deep understanding of diverse data architecture designs comprising data grid, data fabric, data lakehouses, data vault, data marts, MDM and graph data bases
