Together, we design, build and maintain products, services and experiences that Australian's love and trust, while delivering a sustainable future for Australia Post, and you could be part of that.

We're empowered to deliver for our teams and to delight our customers. We provide an inclusive and supportive environment that nurtures talented people, trusts our teams to deliver their best, and leverages modern work practices and technologies. It's an unexpectedly dynamic and collaborative culture that feels more like a start-up than a 213-year old icon.

What you’ll deliver with us
The Senior Data Architect (enterprise) is responsible for articulating the evolution of the enterprise data architecture to support business unit aligned technology roadmaps. This role works directly with our Corporate Portfolio to understand current and future usage and demand for data management and analytics capabilities. You will be defining strategic direction for data management capabilities, including analytics, for the 'Corporate' domain (Finance, People & Culture, Legal, etc.) in alignment with the overall Technology strategy for that domain.  In doing so, the role will define supporting architectural decisions and patterns to enable effective implementation of the strategy.  Key responsibilities for the employee will be to ensure business unit stakeholder alignment, synergies with other domains (PPeCS, Network Operations & Retail) for leveraging efficiencies, and alignment with the Principal Architect for the Corporate Domain.

The role will translate this understanding into clearly defined blueprints for the evolution of data assets and supporting platforms and services with a particular focus on making data 'AI ready'.   The role will be accountable for delivering the data architecture blueprints for one or more business domains.   The blueprints will demonstrate alignment with a consistent set of Enterprise Data Architecture Principles and the Enterprise Reference Data Architecture. Additionally, the role will provide clear direction through Key Design Decisions and Architecture Patterns to guide solution architecture and delivery.

You’ll also

  • Design and carry out discovery workshops with business and technology teams to establish an aligned understanding of business and technical requirements, current state issues and services, and capability priorities.
  • Define strategic direction for different data environments including MDM, Data Lake, Data Platforms, Data Integration, real-time data processing, data analytics and AI solutions within the context of specific business unit technology roadmaps.
  • Be a subject matter expert in insights & data management, architecture and solutions.
  • Work with relevant Technology teams ensuring effective plans are in place for data storage, sharing and publishing within the organisation.
  • Contribute and support improvements to enterprise information solutions such as master data management, meta-data management, analytics, content management and data integration.
  • Ensure data architecture blueprints define accessibility, retrievability, security, quality, retention and ethical handling of relevant subsets of data through the application of formal data and metadata structures and protection measures.
  • Guide and review solutions through the architecture governance process, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Present principles, standards, patterns and key design decisions in architecture review forums and boards, obtaining necessary approvals and incorporating relevant feedback

About you
We are looking for someone who can work collaboratively with data architects, data engineers, and data analysts to ensure alignment of strategic technologies with usage and demand. It’s important to be able to communicate the data architecture blueprint's benefits to technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering a clear understanding and acceptance. Externally you’ll work with vendors to implement solutions. Internally you’ll work with the Corporate Technology Team, Data Architecture Leadership, the Business and Application Architecture functions and major program stakeholders to ensure data architecture is aligned with the business processes and goals

You’ll also need

  • Exposure to the Corporate Business domain with an understanding of key SAP systems
