About the opportunity  
Reporting to the Application Support & Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for the management of defined applications by installing, configuring, upgrading, administering, monitoring, and maintaining the applications to keep them in a usable state, ensuring they are correct, consistent, and available at all required times. Delivery focus may include minor works, estimations, design, and systems development work to time, budget, and quality targets and by appropriate standards. Drive the technical investigation and participate in the troubleshooting process for incident/problem tickets. Resolves technical issues that may arise during the whole development lifecycle.


You’ll also   

  • Implement, configure, and support applications during the hours required by the business ensuring application availability, performance, reliability, maintainability, serviceability, and capacity are provided in line with agreed service level agreements
  • Provide application support resolving all incidents and requests in line with SLAs and undertaking problem management working closely with Service Management
  • Ensure all applications adhere to security policies and appropriate escalation processes are in place for all applications
  • Write and review application code in JAVA as back end and REACT as frontend during the development life cycle and deploy it into GCP
  • Document all applications and integration components for support purposes by required standards, methods, and procedures and adhere to any applicable configuration management procedures
  • Support the planning and deliver patches, maintenance releases, and all major product enhancement releases to applications and integration components
  • Work with internal and external supplier relationships to ensure new fixes and maintenance releases are delivered in a timely fashion
  • Ensure maintenance releases are protected by appropriate and tested back-out measures
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the application support function by maintaining awareness of technology developments and making appropriate recommendations to enhance application services
  • Work across IT to assess system requirements and specifications, identifying and addressing any potential issues prior to implementation
  • Provide assistance and support to testing activities (e.g. System, Integration and User Acceptance)
  • Create and update application documentation so that support can be efficiently performed, and the impact of future change requests can be assessed
  • Follow all change control procedures and put in place full version control and configuration management to ensure that the production service is not compromised
  • Maintain up to date awareness of system security processes and procedures.
  • Contributes to post implementation reviews to incorporate learning’s into future work

 

About you  

  • Technical expertise in supporting enterprise-level JAVA applications built in for cloud (GCP/AWS) environment using Terraform
  • Experience in React as frontend technology and Java as backend
  • Experience with highly scalable systems, inclusive of frontend and backend tiers
  • Having hands on experience with CI/CD into GCP/AWS platform
  • Monitoring tools experience i.e., Sumologic. Site24X7, New Relic
  • Working experience on Oracle and PostgreSQL database
  • Experience working in microservices and API development, and DevOps tools will be an added advantage
  • ITIL foundation certified preferred
