About the opportunity

In the newly created role of Senior Analyst, Major Partnerships, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our strategic retail partnerships by conducting comprehensive analysis of the partner’s strategic goals, market position, and shared growth opportunities. Leveraging data-driven insights, industry trends, and stakeholder feedback, this role supports the development of tailored strategies and commercial agreements that align with both Australia Post’s objectives and the partner’s priorities.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Major Partnerships, this role will help ensure that actionable initiatives are identified and implemented, based on sound strategic and commercial analysis. This position fosters collaboration internally and externally to drive sustainable growth, enhance mutual value, and unlock the full potential of the partnership.

This is a 2-year, fixed term opportunity and open to Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane locations.

What you’ll deliver with us

Through a combination of strategic thinking, commercial analysis, and stakeholder management, this position will help deliver transformational outcomes that support organisational goals and maximise value creation for the partnership.

You’ll also

  • Assess and document the full range of retail partnership opportunities available to Australia Post.  Provide analysis to help evaluate and rank these opportunities based on their strategic importance/impact and difficulty.
  • Support the development of clear proposals outlining the value proposition of any opportunities for both parties, ensuring alignment with the overall partnership strategy.
  • Support end-to-end negotiations for commercial agreements, providing analysis and insights that drive decision-making.
  • Manage ongoing governance and compliance of agreements, monitoring performance against KPIs and ensuring deliverables are met.

About you

You will have proven experience in strategic analysis to support planning and execution, preferably within the retail sector. Possessing excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, you'll be well-equipped to tackle complex challenges and contribute to our dynamic, forward-thinking environment.

You’ll also need

  • Expertise in conducting market analysis, competitive analysis, and financial analysis to assess long-term partnership viability, preferably as part of a top-tier consultancy or internal strategy or M&A team.
  • Preference for experience supporting negotiations of high-value, complex partnerships with a focus on creating sustainable terms for both parties that support strategic goals.
  • Proven ability to thrive in contexts of rapid change and high ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with mid-level stakeholders both internally and externally.
