What you’ll deliver with us

This role is a leadership position within the Technology – Corporate and Core organisation. The SAP Technical and Platform Manager is accountable for the strategic leadership of SAP technical architecture, platform operations, and technical delivery. The role ensures SAP platforms and cloud services are secure, resilient, scalable, and aligned to customer needs and the broader business transformation agenda. 
 
The SAP Technical and Platform Manager ensures the stability and security of mission-critical SAP platforms while using automation and AI-driven insights to improve efficiency and deliver scalable SAP cloud services for the Parcel, Letter, and Corporate business units. The role collaborates closely with SAP Engineering peers and strategic programs to ensure SAP platforms and cloud services are highly available, well governed, and that changes are consistently and reliably promoted through the SAP landscape. The ability to operate effectively in an evolving environment, supporting the transition from incumbent platforms to target-state cloud services is key.
 
You’ll also   

• Provide enterprise leadership for SAP technical platforms, setting and enforcing target-state technical and security direction across programs and business units. 
• Ensure SAP platforms are secure, resilient, scalable, and financially well-governed, while optimising cloud consumption and managing capacity and spend. 
• Oversee SAP Technical & Platform team operations, resource allocation, and delivery performance to ensure solutions meet time, budget, and quality expectations. 
• Lead a customer-focused, safety-oriented, collaborative team culture, fostering knowledge sharing, strong stakeholder relationships, and confident decision-making.
• Lead SAP technical platforms by defining target-state architecture, ensuring security, resilience, scalability, and strong financial governance across cloud and on-premise     environments. 
 
Who you’ll work with
Reporting directly to the Head of Technology SAP Engineering this role leads the SAP Technical and Platform team. Key internal relationships include SAP Engineering team members, Business Unit Service Engagement managers, Business Process Owners and other Enterprise Services team teams, e.g., Business Analysts, Architecture, Head of IT Network & Infrastructure, Midrange teams, Database teams and Vendor Partners. Strong experience managing strategic vendor relationships, including SAP, system integrators, and managed service providers is critical. These stakeholders include Software Vendor Partners (SAP, OpenText, Database Support Vendors) and Implementation Partners (Deloitte, Accenture, TCS) .
 
You’ll also need   

•Significant experience leading SAP technical platforms as a SAP/Platform Architect within complex enterprise environments undergoing significant transformation. 
• Demonstrated leadership across SAP on-premise and cloud landscapes, including S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and hyperscaler-hosted services.

• At least 1 lifecycle of taking a large organisaiton to the cloud.
• Background in operating SAP platforms that support mission-critical, customer-facing and corporate functions. 
• Functional understanding of SAP BTP, SAP RISE, Cloud ALM, Basis, S/4HANA, and SAP Security (GRC and Identity). 
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary SAP technical teams across internal and external resources
• Understanding of commercial models for SAP software, cloud subscriptions, and managed services, including long-term contractual implications. 
• Implementation experience of industry best practice for SAP platform resilience, availability, disaster recovery, and security in mission-critical environments.
