Every year, around one million customers walk into our Post Offices. Our retail team make sure every one of them has a great experience and we make sure you’re supported with a welcoming team, ongoing training and plenty of career development opportunities.
This role starts as casual, with a strong chance of moving into a part‑time position around mid‑year.
Role details
- Pay rate, $40.68 / hour (includes the casual loading of 22.5%) + 12% superannuation
- + District allowance from $7140 annually
- + Up to 50% Air Conditioning subsidy
- Extensive training for 12 weeks (approx. 5 hrs/day), rotating roster Monday–Friday between 8:45am–5:06pm
- Starts casual, with an anticipated move to permanent part‑time of 25 hours / week around mid‑year.
- In a permanent position, you will also be eligible for an extra 7 days of paid leave per year (5 weeks total)
You'll be:
- Performing sales and service transactions with customers and local small businesses
- Managing high value transactions accurately (handling and processing cash, cheques, credit cards and EFTPOS)
- Conducting Identity services including Passport application interviews
- Promoting our products and services through up-selling and cross-selling, merchandising and other promotional activities
- Assisting customers with mail and parcel lodgements
- Building rewarding relationships with customers by understanding their needs
About you
You're friendly, enthusiastic, reliable and you love working in a team environment. You're ready to put the customer at the centre of everything you do to help make a difference in your community. You'll also:
- Have experience in a fast paced retail, hospitality, banking, or similar environment
- Are competent with Point of sale (POS) and cash handling
- Be fit to lift, up to 16kgs of mail/ parcels regularly and stand for your shift
- Hold valid working rights
