Description & Requirements

Turn data into insight that improves how our network operates

Australia Post is delivering like never before. Across Network Operations, trusted reporting and clear insights are critical to keeping the network safe, efficient, and customer‑focused.

We’re looking for a Reporting Insights Analyst to help deliver high‑quality reporting and actionable insights that support smarter decisions across our logistics network.

About the opportunity

This role sits within Network Operations and focuses on delivering trusted reporting, actionable insights, and advanced analytics across first, middle, and last mile operations.

This is not a “just reporting” role. You’ll help shift reporting towards insight‑led and forward‑looking analytics, using trends, patterns, and predictive signals to explain performance, highlight risks, and identify improvement opportunities.

You’ll build and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks that support operational performance, delivery partner management, and business transparency. You’ll also support the adoption of AI‑enabled and predictive analytics by preparing high‑quality, well‑governed data and reporting solutions that can be used across the network.

Your work will help teams understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what to do next supporting better decisions without compromising safety, service, or customer experience.

What makes our team different?

We don’t just analyse data; we solve real-world problems. Our team is always looking for smarter, faster, and more efficient ways to work, whether that means automating manual processes, streamlining workflows, or finding creative solutions to everyday challenges. If you love improving how things get done and thrive on making a tangible impact, you’ll fit right in.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys solving real problems, working across teams, and continuously improving how data is used day to day.

What you’ll deliver with us

  • Design, build and maintain enterprise‑grade reporting, tools and analytics that provide insights into operational, cost, service and customer outcomes
  • Build scalable, automated data pipelines to support forecasting and planning
  • Support predictive analytics, scenario modelling, simulation and optimisation by preparing, validating and embedding analytics‑ready datasets into reporting workflows
  • Translate historical trends, drivers, and assumptions into clear, actionable forecasts
  • Partner with operations, planning, and finance teams to align forecasts with business needs
  • Deliver insights that support capacity planning, resourcing, and network optimisation
  • Create dashboards and reporting that explain forecast assumptions, risks, and impacts
  • Ensure strong data governance, transparency, and quality across all forecasting outputs

About you

You’re an analytical thinker who enjoys turning data into insight, not just producing reports.

You care about clarity, accuracy, and usability, and you enjoy working with both technical teams and operational stakeholders. You’re curious, practical, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment where priorities can change.

You’re motivated by improving how data is used day to day and helping teams make better, more informed decisions.

You’ll also need

  • Experience in reporting, analytics, or insights roles (5 years)
  • Strong experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Looker ML (2years)
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with cloud‑based data platforms (e.g. GCP / BigQuery, BQML) (2 years)
  • Exposure to logistics, operations, or network planning is highly regarded (2 years)
  • Proficiency in GitLab pipelines for deployment and version control. (2 Years)
  • Ability to clearly explain insights to non‑technical stakeholders
