About the opportunity

Reporting to the ‘Head of Information and Data Compliance’, you will be responsible for supporting Australia Post in complying with regulations and maintaining high standards of data privacy and records management. 

 

Acting as an independent adviser and subject matter expert, this role collaborates with business units and stakeholders to steer, monitor and provide pragmatic and innovative advice that is relevant, commercial, and strategically oriented to assist Australia Post in managing its compliance risks in accordance with the Group Compliance Management Framework.

 

You’ll also involve in 

  • Developing, maintaining, and reporting on compliance controls relevant to the privacy and records management 
  • Developing strategies, policies, standards, guidelines, and tools that uphold a single source of truth methodology to meet the expectations of government bodies, customers, and employees regarding the handling and protection of information
  • Managing information's usage, archiving, and securing disposal across all business units and controlled entities of Australia Post, including its employees and contractors
  • Ensuring that Australia Post generates efficiency and effectiveness from its $3m+ annual archive spend, that all obligations for the privacy and records management are accurately documented, updated, and communicated across the organisation  
  • Facilitating, monitoring and providing pragmatic and innovative advice on records management while meeting our existing and emerging obligations effectively and efficiently both domestically and our international operations 
  • Documenting, overseeing and monitoring risks and controls related to the privacy and records management obligations. 
  • Identifying, reporting, and promptly addressing compliance incidents or breaches relevant to the records management program and ensuring that records management obligations are understood and effectively managed within acceptable limits
  • Engaging with 1st line stakeholders to actively understand, manage and report on their compliance risks within the programs, where appropriate, develop, implement, maintain and report on privacy controls relevant to the program

 

About you  

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Management and Privacy will be highly regarded 
  • Great understanding of risk and controls methodology and approaches 
  • Extensive knowledge of Privacy Act 
  • Knowledge of National Archives Act and Secondary Storage requirement and applications 
  • Experienced in navigating complexity in multi-Stakeholders environment
