The Principal Architect – Parcel, Post and eCommerce Services (PPeCS) is a senior leadership role responsible for leading architecture initiatives and teams focused on the technology supporting the PPeCS business. This role ensures that our architecture supporting the full breadth of our PPeCS technology is robust, scalable, efficient, secure, data-driven and AI-ready.

 In this exciting role, you will be responsible for representing the business portfolio needs into all group architecture functions, meetings and governance, and for providing enterprise level guidance and governance back to the business portfolio function. Additionally, you will be the key stakeholder for ongoing technology strategy work, and will be responsible for socialisation and communication of the strategy within your business portfolio, and for providing business context, guidance and advice of business needs and priorities back into the enterprise-wide technology strategy.

You will also be responsible for leading the implementation of the Australia Post Group technology strategy within your portfolio, and development of target states and roadmaps aligned to strategic goals and objectives. This includes input into strategies, principles, governance, and other enterprise architecture activity. 

You will have outstanding social, written and verbal communication skills, as well as a curious, energetic personality, capable of communicating with both internal and external stakeholders including solution vendors, customers and business GMs as required.

On a day-to-day basis, you are directly responsible for leading all architecture activity and resources associated with the portfolio. This will include a large amount of collaboration between business and technology stakeholders.


 Essential Experience: 

  • Experience as senior architect of a large domain in an ASX200 listed or equivalent global organisation, or;
  • Experience as an enterprise architect at an enterprise level in an ASX200 listed organisation or global equivalent.
  • Experience within an IT transformation project or large IT modernisation programme.
  • Confident to lead work within a technology strategy definition programme, understanding and balancing business and technology requirements.
  • Exceptional written and oral presentation skills in front of executive audiences, preparing and presenting technical subject matter.
  • Background in transport and logistics, large field workforces, complex services and products environments would be beneficial.

Market and Environment

 

  • Commercial experience of logistics software platform architecture & integration, and operational technology (OT) including understanding of emerging trends in telematics, robotics and automation
  • Extensive knowledge of key vendors, technologies, trends in technology
  • Actively following technology disruptors and new entrants
  • Awareness of global best practices being used in similar organisations
  • Awareness of cultural environment and geographic restrictions and needs in this market
  • Understanding of relevant compliance and regulatory frameworks around PII and Information Management
