About the opportunity  
Payroll compliance is an integral part of a successful payroll team and this position is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of holistic governance and compliance payroll controls across Australia Posts payroll. It also supports the continuous improvement of payroll tasks. It will conduct Time & Attendance and Payroll checks to ensure that the underlying systems, processes and controls result in outcomes that are compliant with EBAs, Awards, and employment legislation.

What you’ll deliver with us  
Drive strategic and proactive T&A and Payroll governance and compliance to support identification and resolution of Payroll risks and issues, supporting the delivery of on-time, accurate pay outcomes across the Australia Post workforce.


You’ll also   

  • Oversee the proactive, timely and comprehensive response to issues, risks and reviews which arise from internal and external compliance, internal audit and remediation reviews
  • Proactively understand, influence and anticipate legislative changes in the Payroll landscape, to support thorough and holistic preparation and management of changes within Payroll and the broader business
  • Manage the relationship with Employee Relations to understand the Payroll implications of Award/EBA and legislation changes
  • Run with the compliance program of works that the Payroll Operations leadership team define each year
  • Manage any identified mismatches in data by collating any identified discrepancies and leveraging the rest of the team to make the required adjustments
  • Own Payroll compliance risk register and continuous improvement backlog


About you  

This role will suit someone with an eye for detail and who is curious enough to ask questions around processes. 


You’ll also need   

  • Experience in implementing payroll governance controls
  • Knowledge of SAP payroll system or other large scale payroll systems and knowledge on T&A systems
  • Previous experience working in a HR and payroll environment
  • Knowledge in payroll relevant legislation and policies
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel (Formulas,, Pivot tables and displaying data)
