About the opportunity
At Australia Post, Payroll Operations is a dynamic and growing division, made up of several teams, including the Payroll and T&A Applications team. This team provides a range of transactional and administrative services for Australia Post and its subsidiaries, playing a crucial role in supporting the organisation's payroll functions. As the team continues to grow, we’re excited to announce an opportunity for two Payroll Application Analysts to join us and contribute to shaping the future of payroll operations.

What you’ll deliver with us
In these roles, you’ll each play a key part in supporting payroll system upgrades, enhancements, and change control processes, ensuring that changes are smoothly implemented with minimal disruption. Your responsibilities will include thorough documentation, system testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure that all payroll system changes are executed effectively. You’ll also resolve complex payroll queries and provide essential system support to internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless payroll operations as the team expands and embraces new challenges and innovations.
You’ll also
- Assist in system upgrades, patches, and enhancements by conducting testing and UAT to ensure accuracy, compliance, and minimal disruption. Maintain records of test cases and issue resolutions for compliance and knowledge sharing.
- Work with IT, HR, Finance, and vendors to resolve issues, validate functionality, and meet payroll requirements. Provide guidance on application functionality and assist with Tier 3 payroll queries.
- Analyse data to identify trends and root causes of SAP payroll issues, and define business specifications. Contribute to managing the SAP Payroll system and ensure timely resolution of payroll tickets within ServiceNow.

You bring strong experience in payroll systems and processes, a problem-solver who thrives on troubleshooting and addressing challenges, with a focus on ensuring smooth payroll operations. Passionate about contributing to a dynamic and growing team, you’re eager to be part of Australia Post’s exciting modernisation and transformation journey, helping drive innovation and operational excellence as the organisation evolves.
You’ll also need
- Strong knowledge of SAP HR/Payroll and other payroll systems, with experience in Spinifex reporting and an understanding of payroll processes, business rules, and principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex payroll issues, write Business Requirements, Test Scenarios, and Business Analysis Summaries to ensure smooth operations and system functionality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues across all levels of the organisation and support the team in achieving payroll goals.
