About the opportunity
In this newly created role, as Manager Retail Cash Operations, Audit & Compliance, you will lead the national governance of cash operations and retail audit programs across Australia Post’s retail network. This role ensures strong financial integrity, compliance, and risk management by maintaining robust frameworks that protect revenue, strengthen controls, and optimise cash flow.
Leading a team, you will partner with key interna and external stakeholders to champion consistency, automation, and best-practice approaches to cash management and audit.
What you’ll deliver with us
- Lead national visibility of retail cash flow, through forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision making.
- Develop, implement, and maintain frameworks, policies, and controls for cash management, audit, and fraud prevention across corporate and licensed retail outlets and ensuring consistent adoption.
- Accountable for developing and maintaining a business continuity framework for retail cash operations to ensure resilience and continuity of cash flow under variable trading, supply chain, or system conditions.
- Monitor and interpret trends and variances in cash inflows and outflows, delivering actionable insights that inform strategic decisions and shape the prioritisation of retail audit activities
- Manage strategic relationships with cash logistics providers and payment partners to ensure service performance, compliance, and value for money.
About you
You bring a high level of attention to detail, with strong analytical, problem‑solving and reporting capabilities. You’re a confident communicator with proven stakeholder management skills, able to engage effectively at all levels, and you have demonstrated experience leading teams and applying financial modelling to support sound decision‑making.
You’ll also need
- 5+ years’ experience managing large-scale cash operations within a retail, financial services, or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with cash logistics systems, point-of-sale integrations, or financial management platforms.
- Understanding of compliance frameworks related to cash handling and anti-money laundering.
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex cash inflow and outflow data, forecast needs, and provide actionable insights to optimise working capital across a large retail network.
