We’re delivering for the environment, for our communities, for our customers and for our people. We’re moving forward and we want you to come along for the ride.
About the role
This is a unique 12 month Fixed Term opportunity to join a highly capable Employee Relations team that’s driving meaningful change across a large, complex organisation. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development of people policies, supporting major enterprise wide initiatives, and partnering closely with leaders.
What You’ll Deliver With Us
In this role, you’ll take the lead in shaping, refreshing and delivering group wide people policies that are both compliant and contemporary. Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations, you’ll work closely with operational leaders, the broader People & Culture team and senior stakeholders to ensure our approach is aligned with the business strategy and is future ready. Success will mean influencing at a strategic level, driving policy change initiatives and ensuring that policies and frameworks support both our people and our business.
You’ll Also:
- Lead the development and governance of group wide HR policies, ensuring compliance and competitiveness as well as tailored policy frameworks to support enterprise projects and change programs.
- Drive continuous improvement across policy, frameworks and processes.
- Support the broader Employee Relations team by managing case work and ensuring timely and effective resolution of ER matters.
About you
You're a confident and commercially minded professional with a deep understanding of the Australian industrial landscape. Known for your integrity and discretion, you’re able to navigate complex workplace matters with clarity and composure. You build trust quickly with stakeholders at all levels, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are driven by delivering practical, people-focused outcomes. Collaboration and influence come naturally to you, and you’re motivated by the opportunity to lead positive change.
You’ll also need:
- A degree qualification in Law (required), with at least 5 years of experience in employment or industrial law.
- Expert knowledge of the Australian workplace relations system, including the Fair Work Act, EEO & Discrimination legislation, and employment contracts.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex ER/IR matters, including advocacy before tribunals, handling disputes and grievances, and interacting with unions.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate data and legal frameworks into commercially sound, actionable advice.
How we’ll deliver for you
- Be part of a culture where everybody feels they belong, are valued, and can bring their authentic self to work every day.
- We deliver on our values of Trust, Inclusivity, Empowerment and Safety every day. They’re the TIES that bind our team together.
- Flexible working, across support office and operational facilities across the network.
