What you’ll deliver with us

As our Manager of Operations Service Delivery, you’ll be accountable for Operational management of Partner sourcing contracts across Network and Infrastructure engineering. You will be responsible for designing, delivering and running Services for the Australia Post Group on premise or through public cloud providers including the provision and management of the specific technical service. These Services include both Internal and External providers and includes Maintenance, Monitoring and Support to ensure the stable operations of the organisations shared storage and associated Networks and Infrastructure and that it is managed in accordance with industry best practice. 

 

Reporting directly into the Head of Technology – Networks and Infrastructure, you will assign resources, and track resource utilisation within internal teams whilst securing resourcing from operational SME’s and third parties. You have responsibility for ensuring Operational Service Delivery meets the agreed business demand at the quality required, delivers business value in a cost effective and timely manner and that the service provided fulfils the requirements of the Australia Post Group.


You’ll also   

  • Create practical and flexible operational designs, ensuring they remain aligned to the technology roadmap and high-level operational design.
  • Set a procurement framework to assist the business to negotiate effective operational outcomes as well as introducing a new vendor management model.
  • Ensure Service contracts balance functional, service quality and systems management needs.
  • Educate stakeholders on what Australia Post requires our Services to look like.
  • Manage a variable workforce of staff and contractors, comprised of Technical Specialist and Engineers where required to support deliverables. Two Network Engineering team leads report into this role.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand evolving needs and deliver relevant solutions for the organisation.
  • Provide operational support of the technology environments through external vendor engagement.
  • Remain informed on emerging technologies and ensure any new technologies that are Introduced Integrate effectively with existing environments and are operationally suitable.

About you  

You are a collaborative individual who can build relationships at all levels of Australia Post, including with executive level business and technology leaders. This role requires someone with experience in managing relationships with external vendors in an enterprise environment, which requires strong communication skills. Being able to articulate ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders is critical.


You’ll also need   

  • 7-10 years’ of industry experience including in IT leadership and coaching positions. 
  • Extensive background in managing significant partner operational service management contracts.
  • Hands-on experience in the design, implementation and support of infrastructure solutions, with the ability to utilise automation tools.
  • Comfortable managing large, complex and critical Operational IT environments in a 24/7 capacity. 
  • Experience with infrastructure project delivery and able to support workloads in both on premise and Cloud environments. 
  • Proven commercial acumen with the skills to interpret and provide complex technical designs.
  • Ability to achieve stability through effective problem management with demonstrable improvements i.e. reduction in incidents, improved SLA, improved availability and reliability. 
  • Knowledge of key vendors, technologies and trends.
