About the Opportunity 

Step into a critical role within Australia Post’s Recovery & Health team.  As a Manager Claims, Recovery and Health you will oversee the strategic management of workplace injury claims, drive health and recovery outcomes, and ensure compliance with workers’ compensation policies and procedures. You’ll be responsible for leading a team dedicated to supporting our people in their return to work and health, delivering exceptional customer service, and developing collaborative solutions that optimise health outcomes.


What You’ll Deliver With Us 

Reporting to the Head of Claims, Recovery and Health, you’ll take ownership of developing your team’s capabilities through coaching and mentoring, act as the escalation point for complex cases, and provide education and advice to managers. You’ll design and implement strategic programmes that enhance workers’ compensation service delivery, support positive health and work outcomes, and reduce organisational risk. 

You’ll foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders across Liability, Litigation, Workplace Recovery, Workplace Relations, Human Resources, and Operational teams, ensuring sustainable return-to-work outcomes and a comprehensive approach to recovery and health for both our people and the business.

You’ll Also 

  • Drive the success of the Recovery & Health Team by leading efforts to achieve improved health outcomes and enhanced team performance for all team members.

  • Measure and analyse performance metrics to identify improvement initiatives through claims management strategies with a focus on health & recovery outcomes.

  • Provide high level advice and guidance to Health & Recovery Partners in relation to claims management strategies.

  • Encourage digital innovation, align discussion with strategy, and uses data to monitor and improve Recovery & Health performance.

  • Contribute to the management of the operating budget and expenditure. 

  • Provide detailed analysis of the incapacity claims portfolio and the strategy outcomes to minimise risk.


About you 

With proven experience leading a Team in a Workers' Compensation environment, you excel at building collaboration and driving positive change across injury management functions.   An allied health background, i.e. physiotherapy, chiropractic, osteopathy, occupational therapy, exercise science/physiology, psychology or nursing, your communication and influencing skills enable you to advise senior business, HR, and operational leaders effectively. You thrive in fast paced environments, balancing empathy with commercial acumen, and you’re not afraid to lead conversations that drive real change. With a collaborative mindset, you bring energy, resilience and a customer first approach to everything you do.


You’ll Also Need 

  • Ability to build collaboration and influence change across the Health Injury Management teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including unions, HR, medical professionals and operational leaders 

  • Experience applying industry best practice models and leading innovative projects that improve
