About the opportunity
As the State Linehaul Manager at StarTrack, you'll lead all aspects of State Linehaul Services, overseeing interstate, intrastate, and depot-to-agent shuttles. You’ll be responsible for driving operational efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing innovative initiatives to improve Express Operations. This role offers you the chance to collaborate across various internal teams and industry stakeholders to build a future-focused, cost-effective transportation network.
What you’ll deliver with us
- Lead and manage State Linehaul Services, ensuring safety, performance, and cost efficiency are achieved across interstate and intrastate routes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, providing key insights and operational recommendations to meet service performance goals.
- Manage and optimise asset utilisation, regulatory compliance, and the network’s routing for timely delivery.
- Own and drive long-term cost-effective solutions for freight and contract negotiations.
- Oversee a $50M P&L, ensuring financial objectives are met while maintaining high service levels.

- Lead a team of operations professionals, setting clear goals, providing guidance, and motivating them to deliver outstanding results.
- Address operational challenges, including managing adverse events and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Engage with industry groups and external suppliers to enhance the performance and knowledge of the linehaul network.
- Monitor legislative changes and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations.
About you
You’re a proactive, strategic leader who thrives in a dynamic, multi-site environment. With a background in transport operations, you’re skilled at building strong relationships and leading teams through complex challenges. Your focus on safety, accountability, and efficiency will drive continuous improvements in the linehaul network, ensuring the future success of StarTrack’s operations.
You’ll also need
- Essential Experience: In-depth understanding of the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) regulations and their operational impact.
- Skills: Strong leadership abilities with experience in cost reduction and efficiency initiatives across multi-site organisations.
- Experience: Proven track record in managing contractor workforces, dealing with industrial relations, and executing change management.
- Knowledge: Expertise in logistics, freight management, and the regulatory environment within the transport industry.
- Qualifications: Exposure to and experience within the transport industry, ideally with a focus on linehaul operations.
