What you’ll deliver with us
A subject matter expert, hands-on technical role in the identity engineering practice for the Australia Post Group designing, delivering and supporting workforce Identity services both on premise and through public cloud providers. Responsible for the delivery of enhancements, maintenance, monitoring and support to ensure the stable operations of enterprise Identity platforms and the critical business services that they enable.
Delivery focus includes estimations, design and development work to time, budget and quality targets in accordance with appropriate standards. Overall responsibility for ensuring service delivery meets business demand in line with technical and strategic patterns, delivers business value in a cost effective and timely manner and that the service provided fulfils the requirements and enhances the security posture of the Australia Post Group. You are responsible for working on the infrastructure that keeps the platforms functioning and monitoring this from an operational lens. This includes Entra admin, onboarding and general active directories operational work.
You will be
- Responsible for the enhancement of critical directory platforms: Active Directory, Entra and the services that they support including service management.
- Demonstrates technical thought leadership and is strategically minded.
- Provides expert technical consulting to both mature the function in BAU and deliver robust work products for projects that align to design standards, patterns and identity strategy.
- Maintains awareness of internal and external standards and compliance obligations and drives platform compliance to these standards/obligations.
- Responsible for communicating with BAU and project on their allocation in line with agreed budget targets.
- Actively maintains knowledge with regards best practice and industry direction for both directory technologies and across the wider IAM domain
- Part of BAU operations including actioning tickets in service now queue, account administration and Microsoft Entra admin
About you
We are seeking an individual who can work in a dynamic environment and display pragmatic prioritisation of workload demands. Reporting directly into the Manager of Identity Engineering you will be collaborating with the Principal Identity Architect, Workforce Identity Product Owner, Head of IAM and the Manager of Identity Partnerships. If you have good communication skills that is an advantage in this role as you will be liaising with our Microsoft Technical Account Manager externally as well. If you have the ability complete Microsoft Entra administration and onboarding and have a working understanding of active directory operations, then you are exactly what we are looking for!
You’ll also need
- Background as an AD Engineer, Windows/Entra Administrator, Identity Engineer, Azure specialist or experience doing operations in a scripted way
- Experience in supporting critical business services in a corporate and operational environment
- Delivery experience across Active Directory, Entra and supporting technologies.
- Management and governance of Enterprise Directory environments in line with security best practice
- Experience in development and maintenance of scripting languages (PowerShell preferred)
- Understanding of version control/code management technologies (eg. GitLab)
- Exposure to workload management and delivery tooling (eg. Jira)
