We’re looking for a Head of Workforce Optimisation to ensure we have the right people, with the right skills, at the right time to meet our business and technology objectives. You will spearhead the transformation of the Enterprise Services technology function, ensuring it is equipped with top-tier talent, cutting-edge capabilities, and innovative delivery practices to meet the dynamic demands of a large, complex enterprise. Positioned at the nexus of people, technology, and strategy, you will drive a forward-thinking workforce transformation agenda, championing product and platform-aligned delivery models to propel the organization into the future.
What you’ll deliver with us
- Strategic Workforce Planning: Develop and lead the technology workforce strategy aligned to business and digital transformation goals.
- Forecast future workforce needs based on product roadmaps, platform evolution, and emerging technologies. Partner with HR, Finance, and Technology leaders to ensure workforce plans are integrated with enterprise strategy.
- Resource Management & Capacity Planning: Manage resource allocation for product and platform teams to maximize delivery and utilization.
- Develop scalable workforce planning models and governance frameworks for effective resource management. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workforce agility and operational efficiency.
- Capability Development & Talent Strategy: Identify the key skills required for effective technology delivery both now and in the future, while collaborating with Learning & Development and Talent Acquisition to create strategic talent pipelines.
- Lead initiatives focused on upskilling, reskilling, and retaining top technology professionals.
About You

In this pivotal leadership role, you’ll harness your deep expertise in workforce strategy, technology operations, and enterprise delivery models to influence senior stakeholders and lead high-performing teams across a dynamic, matrixed environment. You’ll also play a key role in designing and implementing Australia Post’s Technology Operating Model Blueprint—a bold, future-fit framework that will redefine how technology engages with every corner of the business. From evolving ways of working to embedding agility and alignment, you’ll be at the heart of a transformation that empowers teams, accelerates delivery, and unlocks enterprise-wide value.
You’ll also bring
- 10+ years of experience in workforce strategy, resource management, or technology operations.
- Experience working in product and platform-aligned technology organizations
- Proven success in leading workforce transformation and capability uplift initiatives
- Strong commercial acumen and experience negotiating large-scale technology contracts
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across executive and board levels
