Help us deliver a better tomorrow

Australia Post is delivering for all Australians. From the vehicles that we drive, to the small businesses that make our communities thrive. We’re delivering for the environment, for our communities, for our customers and for our people. We’re moving forward and we want you to come along for the ride.

About the opportunity

As Head of People & Culture (P&C), Retail, Brand & Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the people strategy behind one of Australia’s most visible and customer‑critical portfolios.

Partnering with senior leaders across Retail, Brand and Marketing, this role sits at the intersection of brand promise, customer experience and frontline execution. You will lead a future‑focused people agenda that enables performance today while building the capability, culture and leadership required for tomorrow.

This is a senior leadership role within the P&C function, where your influence will extend to shaping enterprise decisions through insight, data and trusted executive partnership.

What you’ll deliver with us

Reporting to the General Manager, People & Culture Business Partnering & Performance, you will work closely with the Executive General Manager (EGM) and senior leadership team for Retail, Brand & Marketing, as well as specialist Centres of Excellence across People & Culture. Together, you will translate business and brand strategy into integrated workforce, capability and culture priorities that deliver real outcomes for customers and people.

Success in this role looks like clear, measurable uplift in leadership capability, workforce readiness, engagement and culture across a complex, high‑profile portfolio.

You’ll also

  • Lead the design and embedment of a multi‑year people, workforce and capability agenda aligned to Retail, Brand & Marketing strategy.
  • Drive data‑led workforce planning, organisation design and talent decisions, using people analytics to improve decision quality and outcomes.
  • Provide trusted, commercial counsel to senior leaders, constructively challenging decisions to improve performance, culture and customer outcomes.
  • Champion safe, inclusive and psychologically healthy workplaces, embedding safety and wellbeing into leadership expectations.
  • Lead and develop a high‑performing P&C Business Partnering team that operates as a modern, insight‑driven advisory function.

About you

You are a commercial, enterprise‑minded people leader who thrives in complexity and visibility. You balance strategic thinking with practical execution and bring credibility, curiosity and courage to the table.

You build trust quickly with senior leaders, influence without authority and translate data and insight into clear actions that stick. You will also have a strong ability to build effective relationships across the P&C leadership team and enjoy influencing and collaborating with P&C peers to provide commercial and impactful solutions for the enterprise.

You role‑model inclusive leadership, ethical decision‑making and a genuine commitment to safety and wellbeing.

You’ll also need

  • Extensive senior HR leadership experience, including leading teams through significant change and transformation.
  • A strong track record partnering with executive leaders in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Deep expertise across workforce planning, organisation design, talent and culture change.
  • High data, digital and AI literacy, with the ability to use insight to improve decision quality and outcomes.
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or a related business discipline (postgraduate qualifications desirable).

How we’ll deliver for you

  • The opportunity to shape the people agenda for one of Australia’s most recognised brands.
  • Genuine executive influence and exposure within a nationally significant organisation.
  • Flexible working, career development and leadership growth at enterprise scale.
