We’re delivering for the environment, for our communities, for our customers and for our people. We’re moving forward and we want you to come along for the ride.
About the opportunity
At Australia Post, we are committed to helping communities thrive. As part of our ambition to be a leading-edge marketplace connecting Australians with the world, Payroll Operations is constantly evolving in response to legislation and policy updates. In this role, you will support the Payroll Governance and Compliance Manager in implementing and monitoring comprehensive governance and compliance controls across payroll.
What you’ll deliver with us
In this role, you’ll ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of governance and compliance payroll controls, supporting the continuous improvement of payroll tasks. By working collaboratively with key stakeholders, you’ll help ensure the timely, accurate, and complete delivery of data reporting and analysis. You’ll also play a key role in understanding and incorporating legislative and policy changes, helping to ensure that payroll operations remain compliant and efficient.
You’ll also
- Contribute to strategic Time & Attendance and Payroll governance, proactively identifying and resolving payroll risks and issues, ensuring timely and accurate pay outcomes across the Australia Post workforce. Support the Payroll Governance and Compliance Manager in addressing internal and external compliance, audit, and remediation reviews.
- Conduct data analysis to ensure payroll compliance with legislation and EBAs, actively updating the Payroll compliance risk register and continuous improvement backlog to support ongoing risk mitigation and process enhancements.
- Support proactive change management initiatives across payroll to drive the adoption of new changes and capability uplift.
About you
You bring a strong blend of technical knowledge, analytical thinking, and collaborative spirit that aligns well with the Australia Post culture. You are proactive, solution-focused, and always committed to maintaining high standards in payroll governance and compliance. With a genuine interest in continuous improvement, you thrive in environments where you can apply your problem solving abilities and work across teams to deliver results. You are detail-oriented and can manage competing priorities while ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all tasks. Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, combined with your deep understanding of payroll systems and legislation, makes you a trusted contributor to the team’s success.
You’ll also need
- Experience in implementing payroll governance controls and have worked on remediation tasks to ensure compliance and accurate payroll outcomes.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Spinifex Reporting tools, and a deep understanding of SAP HR and Payroll architecture.
- Proven ability to analyse large datasets and leverage data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement in payroll processes.
- Experience working with internal stakeholders (People & Culture, Payroll Operations, IT teams) and external governing bodies.
How we’ll deliver for you
