About the opportunity

This 12‑month fixed‑term opportunity offers the chance to play a pivotal role in shaping strategic decisions through financial insight and analysis across the $1.6bn StarTrack Freight Services revenue portfolio. This includes supporting planning and forecasting processes, driving system and process improvements, delivering performance analysis, and assessing commercial initiatives.

 

What you’ll deliver with us

  • Partner closely with the Finance Manager to support commercial initiatives, streamline forecasting and reporting, and enable delivery of Finance Transformation objectives
  • Full accountability for all month end reporting, planning and forecasting. This will include accurate and timely mid-month estimates, quarterly forecast, annual budgets and presentation of monthly insights to key stakeholders

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with Product teams and internal Finance stakeholders
  • Provide data‑driven commercial insights across Freight Services to support informed business decision‑making
  • Understand business strategies and support their financial development, identifying key risks and opportunities
  • Analyse and provide commercial advice to drive optimal financial and operational outcomes for the Parcels portfolio
  • Apply strong analytical capability and commercial judgement to challenge and influence business decisions
  • Contribute to the delivery of finance and business transformation initiatives
  • Support the finance stream in delivering business and finance transformation projects

 

About you

Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across business and Finance stakeholders

 

You’ll also need

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial advisory and/or financial management roles
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in finance and /or accounting or related discipline 
  • Strong experience in financial control, reporting and finance partnering
  • Proven success in FP&A and/or finance business partnering, working with multiple and senior stakeholders
  • Highly developed financial, analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify processes and apply automation and standardisation to improve efficiency
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to develop procedures and deliver clear, concise reporting to stakeholders
  • Strong systems capability, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; TM1 experience preferred and basic Tableau skills desirable
