Help us deliver like never before
We’re delivering like never before. From the vehicles that we drive, to the small businesses that make our communities thrive. We’re delivering for the environment, for our communities, for our customers and for our people. We’re moving forward and we want you to come along for the ride.
About the opportunity
We’re looking for a hands‑on, people‑focused leader to step into the role of Delivery Manager – Mackay, joining a stable and engaged StarTrack team that’s proudly delivering for North Queensland like never before. With a strong culture, committed workforce and supportive network around you, this is a rare chance to lead a key delivery operation that plays an essential role in servicing customers across the region.
What you’ll deliver with us
You’ll lead the day‑to‑day delivery operations for Mackay, supporting a team of 20 team members and 5 delivery agents, and playing a critical role in maintaining delivery performance (including DIFOT), scanning accuracy and safety standards. Reporting to the Regional Manager North QLD, you’ll work closely with Australia Post partners, agents and contractors to ensure we continue delivering great outcomes for our customers and strengthening the AP/StarTrack network across the region.
You’ll also
- Lead, coach and develop our team, building capability and embedding safety, our values and inclusive culture.
- Drive operational performance across scanning, delivery accuracy and customer service through continuous improvement.
- Manage local financial performance including cost-of-freight, cost-per-item and efficiency initiatives.
- Champion Safety and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements, ensuring compliance and safe operations every day.
- Partner with AP Facilities, contractors and agents to uplift service standards and maintain strong working relationships.
About you
You’re a confident, hands‑on leader who knows how to earn trust, build culture and bring teams together. You thrive in operational environments, stay calm under pressure, and don’t shy away from rolling up your sleeves to support your people. You’re driven by doing what’s right for customers, motivated by continuous improvement, and energised by bringing a team along on the journey—aligned to the Australia Post values of Trust, Inclusivity, Empowerment and Safety.
You will also have:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in operational environments (transport, logistics or similar).
- Strong understanding of Safety and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements.
- Experience working in or alongside unionised environments.
- Solid capability in operational planning, performance delivery and interpreting data or reporting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience managing budgets, cost performance or financial controls.
