We’re looking for a Data Solutions Analyst (Forecasting) to help build and enhance forecasting solutions that support smarter planning across Network Operations.

This role owns the development and delivery of short term forecasts and shapes the long‑range and will be seen as a key enabler for our business transformation. The role is accountable for forecast accuracy, bias management, scenario modelling and governance, supporting strategic, commercial and operational decision‑making across Network Operations.

About the role
This role sits within Network Analytics and focuses on developing, implementing, and improving forecasting data solutions that support operational and strategic decision‑making across the network.
You’ll work with large, complex datasets to create forecasts that inform volume planning, capacity decisions, resource requirements, and network performance outcomes. Your work will help the business understand what’s coming, why it matters, and how to respond, while balancing cost, service, and safety.
With a strong focus on governance, scalability, and data quality, you’ll help ensure forecasting solutions are trusted, repeatable, and adaptable to changing business needs. You’ll leverage advanced analytics and AI‑enabled forecasting techniques to improve accuracy, scenario planning, and decision support across Network Operations.
What you’ll deliver with us
- Develop and enhance forecasting models and data solutions for Network Operations
- Develop, partner and/or maintain advanced forecasting models using time‑series, regression and machine learning techniques
- Build scalable, automated data pipelines to support forecasting and planning
- Translate historical trends, drivers, and assumptions into clear, actionable forecasts
- Partner with operations, planning, and finance teams to align forecasts with business needs
- Deliver insights that support capacity planning, resourcing, and network optimisation
- Create dashboards and reporting that explain forecast assumptions, accuracy measurement, bias tracking, reconciliation and continuous improvement and success generated from better forecasts
- Ensure strong data governance, transparency, and quality across all forecasting outputs
About you
You’re a curious, analytical problem‑solver who enjoys working with data to understand patterns, trends, and future outcomes.
You’re comfortable working with ambiguity and know how to turn complex analysis into clear insights that others can act on. You enjoy collaborating with stakeholders and improving how data is used to support everyday decisions.
You’ll also need
- Experience in application of advanced forecasting, statistical and machine learning techniques in an operational or commercial context(2 years)
- Experience in forecasting, analytics, or data solutions roles (5 years)
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with cloud‑based data platforms (e.g. GCP / BigQuery, BQML) (2 years)
- Strong Python skills for data analysis, forecasting, and modelling (2 years)
- Experience building forecasting models, scenarios, or planning tools
- Ability to explain forecasts, assumptions, and impacts clearly to non‑technical audiences
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Looker
- Proficiency in GitLab pipelines for deployment and version control. (2 Years)
- Strong commercial acumen, including understanding of cost, capacity and service trade‑offs
