What you’ll deliver with us

As our Data Modeller you’ll help support in developing and maintaining Australia Post’s Enterprise Data Model. You’ll collaborate with diverse stakeholders to turn complex enterprise data into clear, standardised models, and contribute hands‑on to high‑impact data initiatives that drive real business outcomes.

This is a fixed term, 12-month opportunity.
 

You’ll also   

  • Design and build the enterprise data model, encompassing conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with business requirements and data strategies.
  • Manage stakeholders with the ability to lead data modelling discussions, drive solution design conversations, align business and technical teams, and ensure modelling decisions meet enterprise standards and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to gather, analyse, and refine data requirements, ensuring they are accurately translated into the data model.
  • Define data entities, relationships, and attributes, ensuring the model supports current and future business needs.
  • Map source data into the enterprise data model and maintain updated and organised documentation of such mapping and maintain comprehensive model documentation
  • Support the Principal Data Modeller to establish the practice, define patterns, standards and principles that will guide the activities of project data modellers and external contractors.
  • Design and optimise data models for analytical and operational systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and data quality.

About you  

You bring experience with established data modelling methodologies and a strong, confident communication style. You take ownership, ask the right questions, and proactively drive meaningful data discussions. With proven stakeholder management skills, you can lead data modelling and solution design conversations, align business and technical teams, and ensure outcomes meet enterprise standards and business objectives.


You’ll also need   

  • 5+ years of experience in data modelling, data architecture, or a related role.
  • Knowledge of diverse data modelling techniques such as dimensional modelling, data vault, 3NF, etc.Proficient in using ER/Studio or Erwin for enterprise data modelling, including logical and physical model design, metadata management, lineage, and model governance.
  • Implement and optimise physical data models in Google BigQuery, ensuring alignment with platform capabilities and performance considerations.
