About the opportunity  
The Communications Manager is part of the team that carries responsibility for protecting and enhancing Australia Post’s reputation and its social license to operate, which is achieved through the delivery of Australia Post’s communications strategy.


Reporting into the Senior Communications Manager, you will have responsibility for planning and executing key projects and associated communications strategies to support strategic initiatives across the enterprise. 


You will work to ensure the timely development and delivery of project plans and high-quality communications across multiple platforms to reach team members across the Enterprise. Critical to this role will be working collaboratively across the enterprise and business teams. You will build effective relationships at all levels of the business and develop a deep understanding of business needs and stakeholder audiences.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Delivering on the Communications strategy and think about strategic initiatives that will improve communications for our team members
  • Building trusted relationships with leaders across the entire business, prepare communication plans, messaging and presentations, as needed 
  • Supporting key enterprise projects and initiatives, including the digital screen roll out by executing project plans and developing high quality communications to enhance team member and stakeholder understanding and engagement
  • Collaborating with the wider Communications team to ensure consistency of business messages and alignment with enterprise-wide programs
  • Collaborating with frontline teams to ensure effective roll out of projects and plans

 

About you  
You’re calm under pressure and can work through issues quickly and methodically. You are a fierce advocate for the customer and can translate complex information into easy-to-understand communications with ease. Action-oriented, organised, and driven by data you are efficient, adaptable and have a solution-focused attitude. You’re inquisitive, proactive, eager to get stuff done, and enjoy building strong relationships with team members and stakeholders across the business.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications or a related discipline in a large and complex organisation
  • Project management skills to ensure that large-scale programs are planned, run and evaluated efficiently and consistently
  • Experience in developing, executing, and evaluating communication plans and campaigns
  • Exceptional oral, written, and editing skills with an excellent understanding of a wide variety of communication channels and techniques, including digital communications 
  • Natural curiosity about issues and developments about current news issues, and in the broader community socio-political environment
  • Highly organised and efficient and possess the ability to work through ambiguity
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, change communication, and project management skills
  • Understanding of issues and reputational impact
