Help us deliver like never before
Australia Post is delivering like never before. From the vehicles that we drive, to the small businesses that make our communities thrive. We’re delivering for the environment, for our communities, for our customers and for our people. We’re moving forward and we want you to come along for the ride.
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager (Enterprise Services), you’ll be part of a collaborative Communications that supports our Technology business unit. You’ll help turn complex tech initiatives into clear, engaging stories that connect people to the innovation driving Australia Post forward.
You’ll support internal communications that keep our people informed and engaged, and you’ll have the chance to contribute to the execution of our external strategy too (experience here is a bonus, not a must). We’re looking for someone creative, collaborative, and excited to turn ideas into content that connects. You’ll help shape strategy, advise senior leaders, support execution, and measure your impact along the way. This role is all about being collaborative, building strong relationships at every level, and getting to know what matters most to different stakeholders across the business.
What you’ll deliver with us
- Help deliver and measure the effectiveness of our communications strategy and identify new strategic initiatives to improve communications for our team members
- Support on communications for key events delivered by our Culture Champions (i.e. Diwali, Hack Day, culture-driven moments) as well as the delivery of key communications forums (e.g. Town Halls, leadership forums)
- Build trusted relationships with leaders across the business and support the preparation of speaking briefs and presentations as needed
- Support the development of communications for executive leaders, including video scripting and editing
- Support key enterprise projects and initiatives by developing and advising on communications approaches to enhance team member and stakeholder engagement
- Participate in enterprise-wide project teams on business continuity issues and responses
- Help find, investigate and communicate internal and external good news stories
- Collaborate with the wider Communications team to ensure consistency of business messages and alignment with enterprise-wide programs
- Help manage the calendar of communications activity
About you
You’re a communications specialist who gets things done. The latest in tech, data and AI excites you. Curious and creative, you’re passionate about engaging people through storytelling and translating complex information into clear, simple messages for teams.
You’re organised, efficient and adaptable, with a solution-focused mindset. No problem is too big or too small. Building strong relationships with team members and stakeholders across the business comes naturally to you, and you thrive on collaboration to deliver impactful outcomes.
What are we looking for?
- 3 to 4+ years' experience as communications professional in a large complex, and highly regulated organisation
- Experience in developing, executing, and evaluating internal communication plans
- Excellent understanding of a wide variety of communication channels and content development, including digital communications and video editing
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences on a variety of channels (e.g. Viva Engage, speaking events, leader forums)
- Experience in leading or supporting the delivery of communications events (i.e. Town Halls, All Hands, stakeholder events)
- Experience working for organisations in the technology industry or an agency is preferred, but not essential
- Natural curiosity about issues and developments in the technology, retail and logistics industries, and in the broader community socio-political environment
- Experience with creative production processes, e.g. video, graphic design, AI tools)
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, change communication and project management skills
- Understanding of issues and reputational impact
