About the opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, the Communications Advisor (Content and Channels) is part of the team that carries responsibility for protecting and enhancing Australia Post’s (AP’s) reputation and its social license to operate, which is achieved through the delivery of Australia Post’s communications strategy.

 

You will work to implement and bring to life AP's positions and decisions, helping to develop and deliver communications plans and creating high-quality, engaging, and innovative digital content across a range of platforms and channels. You will be proactive in identifying story opportunities from across the enterprise, in line with strategic objectives and content pillars, helping to drive reach, engagement, and impact. 

 

What you’ll deliver with us

  • Develop and deliver on the communications strategy, strategic initiatives and campaigns that will improve communication for our team members 
  • Contribute to the development of AP internal content strategy and take a proactive approach to its implementation including the production of high quality written and audio-visual content, leveraging new and existing channels to support strategic objectives 
  • Proactively identify and leverage story opportunities to develop engaging content using a range of formats to effectively communicate and engage with team members across AP 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a content calendar and effectively manage the end-to-end development of content including planning, production, and distribution, to ensure timely and consistent delivery of strategic and engaging content across channels   
  • Support enterprise projects and initiatives through effective delivery of communication plans and campaigns and evaluate activity to optimise future plans and enable data-driven decision-making

 

About you

You have a creative flair and technical capability to bring communications to life through effective storytelling across multiple channels and platforms, including end-to-end video production from concept to publication, using iPhone. You will also possess the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the business to develop a deep understanding of business needs and stakeholder audiences, proactively engaging with stakeholders to produce high quality, relevant, and engaging content to drive strategic objectives.

 

What are we looking for?

  • 4+ years’ experience as a communications, marketing, or content professional in a large, complex, and highly regulated organisation, working with a geographically spread workforce is preferred but not essential
  • Proven experience in developing, executing, and evaluating campaigns communications and content plans 
  • Understanding of issues and reputational risk and impact, with a natural curiosity about current news issues and the broader community socio-political environment
  • Highly organised and efficient with sound project management and change communications skills to ensure large scale programs are planned, run and evaluated efficiently and consistently
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and sound presentation capabilities 
  • Resourcefulness and willing to find quick and efficient solutions
