Australia Post is undertaking significant modernisation. We’re looking for a visionary Chief Architect to set and steer our enterprise architecture spanning both business and application domains, to ensure our platforms, roadmaps and investment decisions deliver measurable value for our customers and the enterprise. Reporting to the Chief Technology & AI Officer (CTAIO) within Enterprise Services, this senior leadership position shapes strategy and mobilises execution across multiple business domains. What you’ll deliver with us
You will be responsible for:
- Defining and evolving Enterprise-wide architecture target states, encompassing business and application domains, to ensure scalability, efficiency, and alignment with emerging technology and best practice.
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive business capability models aligned to technology, to support strategic decision-making.
- Creating and managing holistic technology roadmaps and planning activities, ensuring tight alignment with business strategy, priorities, long-term goals, and risk management.
- Driving the adoption of strategic platforms, technologies, and standards while actively reducing architectural complexity, legacy systems, and technical debt.
- Support strategic initiatives and major programs through collaboration with executives, business leaders, project teams, and stakeholders, and provision of solution architecture resources.
- Ensure proper governance for all architecture domains, defining standards, principles, and frameworks as necessary to ensure consistency, interoperability, and scalability.
- Partner with external vendors, partners, industry groups, and thought leaders to stay abreast of trends, evaluate new technologies, and incorporate best-in-class solutions.You’ll also
- Partner with the CTAIO and executive leadership to ensure the application architecture supports growth, resilience, and transformation.
- Communicate with both external (e.g., solution vendors, customers) and internal (e.g., business GMs) parties to create solutions that are aligned with our strategic intent.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with business and Enterprise Services stakeholders. This includes providing thought leadership to our business at the highest level.
About you
You are a forward-thinking leader with deep technical expertise and a passion for business transformation through technology. You are a visionary yet pragmatic leader with deep enterprise architecture experience, capable of building a shared vision and inspiring cross-functional teams to deliver.
You’ll also need
- 15+ years of senior architecture leadership in an ASX200-scale (or equivalent) organisation undergoing significant transformation & modernisation, with a deep technical background and a track record leading Enterprise Architecture across multiple business domains.
- Extensive experience with complex, multi-year ERP transformations (preferably SAP).
- Outstanding communication with non-technical executive audiences; proven ability to build a shared vision and influence strategic decision-making.
- Domain fluency in Retail, eCommerce or Logistics and their operating realities, including the integration of OT and IT and the strategic application of Data and AI.
