The role is responsible for the timely coordination of communication and liaison between Shareholder Departments, as well as coordinating engagement and activities with other areas of Government to strengthen relationships and drive the strategic objectives of Australia Post. Responsibilities include preparation of briefs, responses to requests for information, coordination of parliamentary processes and managing meeting cadence for projects led by the Shareholder Liaison team.

  • Provide high-level internal policy advice to support all areas of the business and proactively identify opportunities across government for Australia Post
  • Apply strategic thinking to drive agendas for regular engagements between Australia Post representatives and government departments and agencies in line with the Shareholder Liaison government engagement plan. Capture and deliver on key actions with internal and external stakeholders

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in political science, public policy, economics, or a related field
  • 3+ years’ experience, including extensive experience in a Shareholder office and/or Government department roles, ideally with exposure in a relevant policy field
  • Strong commercial acumen and proven ability to work in complex team environments and organisations
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Federal Departmental and Government decision-making cycles and processes, as well as a great understanding of government policy development processes
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare complex briefing and policy material with a sound understanding of the unique regulatory operating environment faced by GBEs
