About the opportunity

Reporting into the ‘Head of Industry, Policy & Regulatory Affairs’, you will be accountable for coordinating strategic, trusted relationships with government and regulatory bodies as well as industry associations, in collaboration with colleagues across Australia Post.

You will help to enhance Australia Post’s understanding of emerging public policy risks and opportunities, and to coordinate internal and external engagement on these issues.

The successful candidate will be expected to drive their day-to-day work, working collaboratively across Australia Post to support information sharing and advocacy with government and industry engagements.

What you’ll deliver with us

  • Identifying and communicating emerging risks and opportunities in public policy, including industry and parliamentary inquiries
  • Coordinating Australia Post’s public policy engagement with peak industry associations and industry counterparts to drive advocacy efforts
  • Coordinating and delivering internal reporting for the team, and preparing briefs for Senior Executives and the Board
  • Supporting the Head of Industry, Policy & Regulatory Affairs on priority policy issues, including conducting research to inform the strategic positioning of Australia Post’s advocacy
  • Managing discrete regulatory affairs and public policy matters as they arise, including preparing public submissions, letters, and briefs

About you

You demonstrate a high level of resilience and a solution-focused mindset in navigating complex and quickly evolving environments. You lead by example, fostering a culture of transparency, collaboration, and integrity while inspiring others to do the same.

  • 3+ years’ experience in a public policy or regulatory affairs role, delivering outcomes for both reactive and proactive work
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to think strategically about the various considerations for Australia Post, including our role as a Government Business Enterprise and how this may intersect with policy and commercial considerations
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in political science, public policy, economics, or a related field will be highly regarded
