Description & Requirements

Help us deliver like never before
Australia Post is delivering like never before. From the vehicles that we drive, to the small businesses that make our communities thrive. We’re delivering for the environment, for our communities, for our customers and our people. We’re moving forward and we want you to come along for the ride.

About the opportunity
We’re seeking a results-driven and customer-focused professional to join our team as the single point of accountability for a portfolio of Medium Business customers within a defined local market. In this pivotal role, you’ll manage a portfolio of 30–50 clients, with a combined annual revenue of up to $30 million.

As the primary relationship owner, you’ll take full end-to-end responsibility for your customer accounts—championing operational efficiency, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention, and driving revenue growth through contract renewals, upselling, and cross-selling complex service solutions.

You’ll play a strategic role in account planning and work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver tailored service improvements and industry-leading solutions. Your focus will be on building strong, long-term relationships while identifying opportunities to enhance value across the customer lifecycle.

This is a key role in our business, offering a unique opportunity to make a measurable impact on customer experience and growth. If you're passionate about strategic account management and delivering exceptional outcomes, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll deliver with us

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of driving commercial success and long-term customer satisfaction for some of Australia Post’s most valued Medium Business clients. You’ll lead strategic account management activities, ensure a seamless end-to-end customer experience, and collaborate across internal teams to deliver innovative, value-driven solutions.

  • Lead proactive customer engagement—driving retention, revenue growth, and operational excellence across your portfolio.
  • Act as the central point of coordination between customers and internal specialists across service, sales, and solution design.
  • Deliver on commercial objectives, including revenue targets, contract renewals, and improved account profitability.
  • Champion a customer-first mindset, promoting safety, innovation, and continuous improvement across every touchpoint.

About you

You’re a confident relationship-builder and strategic thinker with a strong background in B2B account management and solution selling. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are passionate about delivering value to customers, and are comfortable navigating complex stakeholder environments.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in face-to-face B2B sales, ideally managing portfolios of $100K–$2.5M and consistently exceeding revenue targets.
  • A strong ability to build trusted relationships with senior executive stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to identify growth opportunities, resolve systemic issues, and influence decision-making across multiple business units.
  • A solid understanding of account planning, sales processes, digital eCommerce trends, and compliance obligations.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or a related field, or equivalent experience, along with a working knowledge of legal, pricing, and contract frameworks.

How we’ll deliver for you

  • Join one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse workforces in Australia, with people of all ages, genders and walks of life
  • We deliver on our values of Trust, Inclusivity, Empowerment and Safety every day. They’re the TIES that bind our team together
  • Immerse yourself in the AP Way – where every single team member partakes in a learning module to help understand the vital role we play in delivering on our strategy and purpose
