And in this position, you’ll be in amongst the action, working with the cutting-edge technology that makes it all possible.  We are looking for a highly motivated Maintenance Technician (Electrician) at our StarTrack Tullamarine facility.

Adhoc change to roster

Whilst the position is predominately day shift Monday to Friday, there may be a requirement to work:

  • afternoon shifts (as required) which attracts a 17.5% loading or
  • weekend work on occasion for major or urgent works.

 

About the role  

Reporting to the Facility Coordinator, your role is to conduct maintenance activities associated with Processing Equipment, including prioritised response to break downs and stoppages.
 
 This also requires working closely with the Operational team to assist the achievement of processing plan expectations.

 

To do that, you will:  

  • Ensure safety is always foremost in all activities and ensure compliance with Australia Post Occupational Health and Safety Policies 
  • Perform maintenance activities including corrective, predictive and preventative maintenance in consideration of operational requirements  
  • Diagnose and correct faults including complex faults in processing equipment and systems to ensure compliance with engineering and operational standards and OHS policies and guidelines
  • Ensure all plant and material maintenance transactions are accurately recorded using MEX 
  • Work as part of a team with operations and other service groups to achieve high levels of reliability, performance and cost effectiveness 
  • Be able to work at heights from mobile platforms  

 

What we are looking for?  

  • Experience in the diagnosis, repair and monitoring of processing equipment and systems 
  • Proven ability to work independently without supervision  
  • Participate in performance monitoring, commissioning and continuous improvement activities  
  • Experience working in a team based environment, and liaise effectively with operations and other stakeholders to achieve high levels of machine performance  
  • Demonstrate a high level of ability in utilizing SAP as an information tool 
  • Exposure to PLC and variable speed drives is also advantageous 
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing  

 

The minimum qualification requirements are:  

  • A current Victorian Electrical License (Certificate III in Electro Technology, Systems Technician or Equivalent)  
  • Mechanical Trade Certificate III or higher  

 

And we’d be very impressed if you have:  

  • A Certificate IV in Electro Technology (Systems Electrician) or equivalent (or progression towards completion) 
  • Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management) 
  • Mechanical Aptitude  
  • Experience in IT, Data communications highly desirable 
  • A High Risk Licence in Elevated Work Platforms
